[00:00:00] Coming up, it's another Fantasyland Draft and this time we are talking about one of my favorite parks, Hollywood Studios. You know what? My friends got very strategic in this episode, maybe more so than ever before because every single selection was a selection worth selecting. It was really hard to narrow down what the top things in Hollywood Studios were because everything in Hollywood Studios is amazing. Follow along, draft your own picks and see what we left off the list that maybe should have been on there because I've got a couple in my mind.
[00:00:28] Hey there, everyone. Welcome to another episode of the Moms Behind the Magic. I am your host, Allie. I'm here today with Carla and with Stacey and we're trying all kinds of new things today as we are recording this episode. So we're all in rare form. We're pretty excited. We're going to try to bring some visuals to this podcast, y'all. We're going to try to get our faces out there for you so you can see us when we're saying these things that we say. And I'm excited to record with you today.
[00:00:58] All of this came to be when we had our big meeting when you all came to my house. You were at my house. That. Can we go back? It was so nice. I know. We had so much fun. We had two. I'll give you M&M's listening a quick trip review. We had two nights. I picked these ladies up from the airport. They got to see the Cincinnati airport, which was full of Bengals, memorabilia, and Skyline Chili.
[00:01:28] And then I brought them up to my small town. I showed them some of the places where I'm always talking to them from. My wife cooked us amazing food. And we just worked like nonstop. We did not leave until we left to go back to the airport. Yeah. Shout out to Cincinnati. I've never met so many friendly people. Like walking up to security and them being like, hey, how's your day? Like what?
[00:01:57] They don't even like, they're just like, give me your driver's license. Yeah. Yeah. And somebody was trying to shade Cincinnati. One of y'all in the car. I don't know. We're always shading Cincinnati, aren't we? Yeah. Somebody was trying to shade. And then I was like, you know what? Everybody just hold on one second. And those that are from this area or have ever been, you know, or are familiar with the cut in the hill,
[00:02:23] which is this area of our highway where right as you make that turn, there's our skyline. And I was like, come on now. Tell me that's not beautiful. It was beautiful. It was really fun. It was good. It was so fun to have you all here. It was really weird. I felt so displaced and excited. And we got a lot done. And I had a great time. It was so wonderful. I haven't had a home-cooked meal since your house. So such good care of us.
[00:02:52] What great hostess both of you were. Yeah, thank you. It's a luxury when we actually have the time for her to do it. But when she does it, that was not for show. Those meals she put on the table, that was not like, oh, I'm hosting. Let me go over the top. That's literally what she will put on the table for dinner if she's home to cook. But we don't have time to do it most of the time, you know? Well, we appreciate it. That's so nice. Well, that was great. And now y'all are gone.
[00:03:19] But we have all kinds of new stuff that we're going to do for the podcast, really to show our gratitude to all you M&Ms so we can keep doing this thing that we all love. And, you know, one of the things we haven't done yet is draft Hollywood Studios. We've been drafting all of the parks and other topics along the way. But today we are going to continue working through that park series. We're going to draft Hollywood Studios. I think ahead of any draft, I get really nervous, but specifically for Hollywood Studios, I like so many things in all of these categories.
[00:03:49] I have a lot of notes here for strategy because we're all going to be gunning for some of the same things here. So there is going to take a little bit of aggression to get what I want for this one. But here's what's cool. So I'll probably be okay with my second and third options. I think that's what I was saying. Not to, I mean, there are some things that will be really disappointed if they don't follow
[00:04:15] my board, but I do like a couple of things and we'll see, you know, we'll see what happens. But do you know that since y'all left my son, talk about summer and relaxing, right? Since you all left, he, he was a ham when y'all were here. He was very happy to show the show you all who he was, but he has had, this is going to sound crazy. I'm going to be judged by Eminem's here in a second, but he's had 15 hours of sports and activity this week since you all left.
[00:04:43] Is that like, I was adding it up today. That's a lot. Oh my God. That's a lot. That's a lot. Yeah. Poor guy. Give him a nap. He loves it though. Like I keep checking in with him. Like, do you want to take a break? Do you not want to get up for this thing tomorrow? And he's like, no, I want to do it. So I'm kind of like, if he wants to do it and he's not too tired, I'll let him do it. Right. I mean, it's kind of a lot on me, my wife, but he likes it. So we were doing it, but felt like a lot. I'm just trying to be adorable.
[00:05:14] We must be lagging or something. Cause I feel like I'm talking and y'all are just staring at me. It's a little painful. All right. Well, all that to say, I do have our names in the wheel, um, which we will do after we take our, our first break here. But do y'all have anything else you want to throw at me? I think everybody just wants to know if you're going to get spot one. All right. Well, we're going to take a quick break. When we come back, we're going to find out. This episode of moms behind the magic is brought to you by baby clip, baby clip.com.
[00:05:41] Use code magic to get $30 off of any order of $150 or more. Baby clip has grown. It's not just about babies anymore. Baby clip offers a huge range of baby and toddler gear, cribs, strollers, car seats, toys, and more. And now they're also renting your pet essentials and beach gear, which is such a game changer for family trips. It means less packing, less stress, and way more room to actually enjoy the vacation you've been waiting for. If you've ever traveled with kids, you know this feeling.
[00:06:11] You finally arrive at your destination and everything is off. No crib, no familiar stroller. Bedtime is chaos. Naps are skipped. And suddenly, your relaxing vacation feels way more stressful than just staying home. For my family, being away from home and out of rhythm without our things can completely throw our kids off. And when the kids are off, let's be honest, everyone's off. That's why we love baby clip. They're the number one baby gear rental service across the US, Canada, and beyond. They make traveling with kids feel normal again.
[00:06:39] What I love most about baby clip is that they work with local quality providers, often moms, dads, and grandparents just like us, just like you, Eminem's listening. These are people who truly get it. If you need it, they have it. Every item follows strict cleanliness and safety standards and is fully insured, giving you peace of mind that you need to relax. They deliver straight to wherever you're staying, your hotel, your vacation rental, or wherever you're calling home. So you never have to lug bulky gear around the airport ever again.
[00:07:06] Baby equip is available in over 2,000 cities and locations, including Disney World and Disneyland, along with so many other popular travel destinations. Booking is quick and easy through their user-friendly online platform. With customer support wherever you need it. So head to babyquip.com. Use code MAGIC to get $30 off of any order of $150 or more. That's babyquip.com. Code MAGIC. Pack light. Travel happy. If you're a new Eminem, I want to say this.
[00:07:33] You may not know why we always joke about the draft order. And so I encourage you to listen back at old drafts because here's the thing. This is not rigged in any way. So I will put the names in any order on the wheel. We've even had other hosts spin the wheel. And for whatever reason, my name more often than not comes up first. But I am on record. I sound like a broken record when we draft because I'm on record saying, I don't know
[00:07:58] why everybody, especially in a draft like this, I don't know that the top spot needs to be so coveted. On that breakfast episode we did, it was like there was a clear number one overall pick. And there was four spots it could go in. And whoever got that, it was going to be really good. And I can see in that circumstance. But in this one, I'm like, there's, I don't know if one is the coveted spot. Venture to say that today, number one would be a pivotal spot to have.
[00:08:25] Like you can make some serious moves if you are number one today and you pick the right thing in the right category. That's all I'm going to say. Can I say this? I hope you are too, because I also want to say this, and this is important. You said you can make some pivotal moves, plural, one, you get one move. You can make one pivotal move, but it can be a big one. And then four, but then four things will be gone by the time you get your second move. So just like keep that in mind. People don't think about it. I get it. All right.
[00:08:53] There's so many good things in each of these categories. Yeah, that's the thing. It was very difficult. I agree. Okay. Okay. So what order do you want me to put the names on the list? Like right now I have it Stacy, Allie, Carla, but it really doesn't matter. You know, they're all in the wheel, but I will put them in another order if you would like that. Just put Carla, Carla, Carla. Okay. Yeah. I'm going to not, I'm not going to do that, but, um, I'm going to spin it. Any, any protests to me spinning here? Nope.
[00:09:23] I trust you. I'm going to try to do this. Oh boy. All right. Here we go. All right. This is actually really fun. I don't think this has ever happened. Stacy. This has never happened. Stacy. Stacy's the first in our draft order. That. That's exciting. That's crazy. That's never happened.
[00:09:47] And that really puts a spotlight on my strategy on if I'm going to do what I want to do or not. And Stacy's constantly talking about how she doesn't strategize and coming into the breakfast draft. She was like, I don't think I'm worried. And then we started and she's like, Oh wait, why are y'all stressed out about this? And then now I'm like, let's see your strategies. All right. Let's see. In the second spot. Now I don't want number two. Wow. And I'm going to get it. I'm going to get it. Okay.
[00:10:17] All right. Like Carla's second and I'm third. I'm going to go third. I'm okay with it. Oh boy. Oh shoot. Number two spot is the worst. Yeah. It is hard to be in that spot where you don't get the double. So for anybody that's listening for the very first time, the way we draft, and you should go back and listen to these. The whole point of drafting these different categories is truly to shine a light on different categories of importance for whatever topic, right?
[00:10:46] So as you're planning out your day and you're like, Oh, what food do I want? What rides do I want? How should I prioritize this? Those are how we kind of pick our categories. And then we do it snake style. So the order would go one, two, three, three, two, one, one, two, three. So the person in position one and three will often get that double pick as we make the turn back towards the starter finish. And once something has been drafted in any category, it cannot be drafted again.
[00:11:13] So if something qualifies in multiple categories and it was taken in one category, if you want it in another one, you cannot have it. Uh, so we will make sure things are only getting drafted once the categories today for Hollywood studios or sit down meal, quick service meal show, which is a huge topic here at Hollywood studios ride attraction for babies and toddlers lounge and wild card. So I'm excited to see how this goes.
[00:11:43] I'm a little anxious as I always am. Uh, once we have our draft boards complete, you M and M's can go vote on who wins each category and ultimately wins the draft, um, in our Facebook community and on our Instagram. And then we'll see who wins Hollywood studios. Stace. I did not make notes as if I would be the first. I just have never been first. I was totally making my plans based on the fact that I would be second or third and assuming
[00:12:12] some things would be, or a thing would already be gone. Um, and then there's this, this, what is most important to me versus me having to listen to what y'all think is most important and then go, dang it. I should have said that. Um, this is really almost too many options here. I don't like this many options. I like for y'all to have already picked out some things and it, it'd be a little easier on me. Good thing. My second choice will be missing.
[00:12:42] What'd you say? Is it four, three, four options? Yeah. Um, okay. Four things will be gone. My second choice will be easier than the first one. Okay. Uh, let's see here. I guess it's maybe smartest to just go with the, um, crown jewel of the park. That is the single pass ride. I, that seems like it's a good move on the first round because it is going to be heavy on the votes.
[00:13:09] I believe maybe, maybe it is. I don't know. I don't know if it's even my favorite, but I will choose my ride as rise of the resistance. It is amazing. You know, it's, I feel like it's, it would be dumb to pass. So I'm not with my heart as much as my brain. I am picking with my brain here. You're putting it in ride. You taking it in ride. Correct. I'm taking it in ride.
[00:13:35] So rise of the resistance is the headliner attraction in star Wars galaxy's edge. It is a combination ride. You are partially by foot. You are in a ride vehicle for some of it. It has visual elements. It has drop elements. It has virtual elements. Character elements. Character elements. It is quite a feat. Daddy elements with Kylo. It's one of the spots you can see Kylo. Yeah. You're like, pull me in.
[00:14:05] And he's, you know, my guy. And so this is like such an obvious pick for this park. Would you call this a thrill ride? Yeah. Absolutely. I would. You know what? Do you ever think about like wishing you could go back to the first time you experienced a ride? All the time. All the time. Yes. Because there's two that I can think of. It's this one. And of course, Guardians at Epcot.
[00:14:29] But I remember experience going in just completely blind, not having any idea what was happening, but also like being in the experience because it is an experience. Right. And we've always said that it's more than just a ride. It's a full experience. There's multiple elements, multiple settings, rooms, everything. And you almost, when I think about the first time, you almost didn't realize that the attraction was starting. Do you know what I mean?
[00:14:59] Oh, totally. Yes. Because you're going into different things and you're like, has it started yet? Not even realizing like it had already started. And, you know, at one point your mind is just absolutely, multiple points, your mind is blown. It's not, I've never gotten off an attraction and like clapped and like cried out of happiness of like, what, like what a time to be alive. Right. And like how awesome it is that I just got to experience that. And holy crap. Can we go again?
[00:15:29] Yeah. My jaw was on the floor. It was, I really couldn't speak for a second. And I just, we all looked at each other like, what did we just experience? And I remember very well too, the first time you have any type of movement. I'll just say it that way. Like you, you're in something that moves for the first time. I remember thinking big whoop, you know, like that was this little teaser of movement. And I remember thinking, is this really all it is?
[00:15:59] And boy, was I wrong. And that's all I want to say in case there's some people who haven't ridden yet. But just know that it is, it is much bigger than they tease you to believe at the beginning. So it is, it's amazing. So happy. Yay. I got that. And now I sit back and twiddle my thumbs while you guys play. Yeah. It's like a 25 minute experience is what I would call it. Truly. You know, the whole ride's an experience. Kudos to the Imagineers for that one. Amen.
[00:16:26] That was a really cute first selection, Stacey. I did not see that coming. Did you see that coming, Allie? I thought it would be a solid way to go. Yeah. I thought it would be a solid way to go. Yeah. It was solid. But I think mine is more solid. Uh-oh. And it throws a little bit of, shall I say, a wild card in the mix? Uh-oh. Are you going wild card? Wild card? Wild card. I think you're about, so I think you're about to take what I have in wild card.
[00:16:56] Like as what I want. I'm going to be extremely strategic in my wild card pick. And I'm going to draft Fantasmic. Which is Hollywood Studios' nighttime spectacular. It is like the epitome of Disney magic, right? You are in Mickey's dream, Sorcerer Mickey, and he is battling good and evil.
[00:17:19] It has all things projection and water and lasers and pyrotechnics and characters. And it hits on the nostalgia of classic movies, newer movies. It's, I love it. And as a first timer, like I always just passed it by. It's right off of Sunset Boulevard. It's easy to pass by, but it's worth stopping for and watching. It's an open air theater.
[00:17:47] You're singing and dancing in your seat. And it's amazing. It's fantastic. It's fantastic. That's what I have today, you guys. Wow. All of the live moments of that show. A lot of the show is water video projection elements. And if I'm being really honest, and I don't mean to not Fantasmic at all, I love this show. Love. I think it's a must-see. But I do think that some of the water, like, projection elements, I think they kind of drag on sometimes.
[00:18:16] Where I'm like, okay, I'm ready for the next scene. You know, I'm like, I'm kind of watching. I won't argue against that. Yeah. You know, I'm like, okay, I'm kind of just watching a movie at this point. And I get it. Like, projecting on water is amazing. But when you get to the live moments of this show, the boats, the big boat, all of the little segments of different movie themes and songs. Like, that Moana. Are you kidding me? That moment in the show makes me cry every single time. Oh, yeah. She also looks like she's having the time of her life out there for everyone.
[00:18:46] So, also, note about Fantasmic. Sometimes a year, they will do two shows a night. And the second seating will be way less crowded. And this theater is massive. It's so big. And if you get a bad seat, I think it does mess with the show. Yeah, I agree. The seating is very important. While we're talking seating and we're talking water projections, if you're very near the front, it's very likely you will get little splashes. Little mist happening.
[00:19:17] But it's really good. And talking about the length of time for that spray, don't you think that's probably timed for, I mean, as a covering for what they're doing on the actual stage behind them? I mean, I'm sure it's, you know, that's the reason for the length of time is they're moving props and stage equipment and that kind of stuff. But, yeah, such a great show. I knew this would go quick and early. And I actually had it in my wild card as well. Is that where you had it? Too?
[00:19:46] Because I was wanting something else for a show. Oh, you had it? Yeah, I have it. Okay. Okay. All right. It does reset what I'm going to do here. And I'm a little, like, I'm so, I think I'm going to shock you all with what I am going to do. I get two picks. I get two picks because we are at the turn here. So I get my round one pick and then I start round two. And Stacey already has a ride. And Carla took her wild card. But she took a show as her wild card.
[00:20:16] So that means that that category just became very interesting. And so I think I know what I'm going to do. I think I'm going to start with sit down restaurant. And I think the reason I'm going there first is because I don't really like the food very much at Hollywood Studios. I think that most of these restaurants are kind of afterthoughts. And I don't like the food at a lot of them.
[00:20:41] One of these restaurants, who I'm on the record for saying isn't very good, has just had a full menu makeover. And they are getting a vanity makeover as well. And it is considered fine dining at Disney. And so I'm going to go ahead and draft what I think is the only worthy sit down meal at Hollywood Studios. And that is Hollywood Brown Derby. It had a menu overhaul. Pretty good now. The Cobb Salad is a top salad on property, which is always a great selection on those heavy, hot theme park days.
[00:21:11] The outdoor patio, which we have talked about a lot, is such a place that, like, I want to sit with a vibe. And I want to experience a vibe. And I think being out there, being with the big band music, hearing the Hollywood themes while looking out at old Hollywood and enjoying a glass of wine or that sangria flight and your, you know, food, which it has really improved. Hollywood Brown Derby.
[00:21:38] I think it's the best and only worthy, really, you know, I talked about liking the theme at some other restaurants. But yeah, I think this is the one that has the best food. Can't disagree. You know, my thoughts on Hollywood Brown Derby, specifically the lounge area outside, which is currently being renovated, right? They've kind of pushed it to that little courtyard of tables that were just kind of like empty tables to rest.
[00:22:08] So that's totally temporary. It's not going to stay there. I believe they're putting an awning in, which would be amazing because before it had umbrellas. But yeah, I think it's, I mean, it's definitely upscale. It is definitely fine dining and it just happens to be in a theme park, which is pretty cool. I don't want to deter anyone from bringing their kids here either. Like we keep saying fine dining, fine dining, but this is Disney. So kids are not only welcome, but they are there.
[00:22:37] You know, I took my kids when they were very young. That time where I had that bad experience that I've talked about before, that was probably three or four years ago. You know, my kids were really little. So I would encourage you that if you want to sit down at Hollywood Studios, keep in mind it is two table service credits. So really think it through before doing that. If you're using the dining plan, make sure that that's what makes sense for your family. But I do think it's the best, most worthy food at Hollywood Studios. Okay.
[00:23:07] I get another pick here to kick off round two. And I'm definitely, ooh, this is hard. A couple of things I could do here. A couple of things I'm nervous about if I don't do here. I think I'm going to go to show. There are literally so many shows to pick from. And I think it's a little interesting that I'm deciding to go here. But there is one that is done better than the rest. And it's because it's simply not just a retelling of its story.
[00:23:35] And, of course, it is Frozen, the musical sing-along slash comedy show. For the first time in forever. For the first time in forever, the Frozen sing-along. This show is simply not just a stage retelling of Frozen. It is a quick retelling of Frozen by two storyteller comedians who will improv and change the show every single time you go. You will see something different. It will pull ideas and things from the audience.
[00:24:04] There is a lot of audience participation. You will laugh. You will sing. Your kids will be in that Disney fantasy world. And I think a lot of people walk by this theater because they're like, oh, I don't really need another retelling of Frozen. And they don't realize what they're missing, which we've talked about a lot. Stacey was people. You know? True. Until she wasn't. And so while I think all of the shows are really good and I am a sucker for live performance and choreography and dance,
[00:24:32] which a lot of these songs, shows, excuse me, do have, there's just nothing funnier than this show. Like at Disney, this is where you're going to get your biggest laugh. And it's Frozen, you know? Yep. It's hilarious. And I definitely was. I assumed incorrectly that it was like the sing-along of Beauty and the Beast in the France Pavilion in Epcot, which is just really not my favorite attraction.
[00:25:01] And I passed it forever and ever and ever, literally until this podcast. And hearing y'all talk about it. And I felt dumber than I've felt. I feel dumb a lot of times. I felt really dumb about that. And was shocked. I don't know why is that such a secret? I don't know why it's been such a secret that that's what is inside this venue is this incredible live action performance. It is wonderful.
[00:25:29] Now, it does have some screen elements where it is a little bit of watching the bouncing ball. But that is not the main part of it at all. I think the fun thing about that is that you've had these comedians warming you up. And so everybody's feeling really loose. And everybody just wants to sing together because we're all feeling loose and we're laughing and we're in this communal thing. And it's a great way to get out of the heat. The seats are relaxed. It's not hard bench. Like you're somewhere comfortable.
[00:25:58] So I feel great about getting these two picks. I feel like the kids are there for the Frozen story. And I think the adults should be there for the Royal Historians and the comedy that comes with them. And I feel like every time I see it, there's different jokes. It's always, you know, changing and evolving. And I love it. Yeah, it is. It's really well done. Yeah.
[00:26:27] Up to date with the latest trendy, punny, meme-y. Yeah. Meme-type jokes. It's fantastic. Yeah. You'll see viral elements that you recognize. Yes. Social media make its way in. You know, it's all right. What a fun job for everybody working on that show. So good. Yeah. All right. So I'm so not used to this order that I'm not even sure. It's not used. That's so, see, I was like, what's happening? Yeah.
[00:26:56] How do you feel being first, Stacey? See, everybody makes this huge deal. Yeah. See? I'm like, look at all these things. So you get to go twice after me, you know, whatever. Anyways. Okay. I'm thinking I am going to go on to the attraction for babies and toddlers. This doesn't necessarily have to be a ride, but since I am the first to draft it, I am
[00:27:22] going to pick probably the best non-height requirement ride, maybe in all of Disney. And that is Mickey's Runaway Railway. It is fantastic. It's that trackless, you know, car or train that takes you through these different elements of cartoons. And there is a song at the end that is very catchy. You'll literally be singing it all day. It is an experience like none other.
[00:27:51] And it is fantastic. Yeah. I said that on the last one. It's fantastic. Everything's fantastic that I sing. Everything about this park. Stop. And I'm glad we added this. I'm glad we added this category because I think this park gets this reputation that it's not for kids. And I think Disney is really trying to get rid of that narrative because it's just not true with all the shows and the rides and the areas that kids can play in. It is a great park.
[00:28:18] And this ride specifically, the first time I ever rode it, I actually didn't have any kids with me. Rode it with Zan. It was just the two of us. And we were like scream laughing. We were giggling and we had so much fun. Every room was a surprise. Daisy's room is obviously my favorite. That's one of the best ride moments like in any attraction. I was going to ask what your favorite part was. I figured it was that. Daisy's room. What's your favorite part, Stacey? Yeah. I love Daisy's room as well. It is so cute.
[00:28:48] I mean, everything about it, just the cartoon type elements of it is so cute. I tell you the one negative. Uh, when I have my grandbaby with me and she's this teen, well, both of them now, there's just teeny tiny little babies on this bench ride. You know, it's a car with a bench seating and one giant bar to cover your entire party on your row.
[00:29:13] And so when you have giant grandma in the same row with little tiny grandbabies, it's like this huge gaping space for them between them and the bar, because it has to be far enough out to cover and fit for me. I think that's a flaw, Disney. I think that's a little bit of a design flaw we need to maybe work on. However. Yeah. Like, what's the same? Like, we're fine. We're all good. I mean, there's a little bit of a motion. I mean, there's definitely some movement in this cart that, you know, these babies are
[00:29:42] sliding around and, you know, so put your babies in between your adult people so you can hold on to them because there will be some sliding around elements, um, which for them is going to be great fun. But, um, but anyway, yeah, no, I love this room, uh, this ride, my favorite room. I mean, I'm probably going to say Daisy's room. The dance studio is too cute, too amazing. About the, the scene where you go into the water that I love. Yeah.
[00:30:07] And it, I have to know that I cannot falling, but I love, yeah, I bet Stacy, you have some like stomach issues. I have to close my eyes. Once I learned that, um, I kid, as soon as I know we're going into that room, I have to close my eyes and just wait till we come out. So I do think, but I've watched and tried. Yeah. For anybody that experiences motion sickness, this attraction hits that bill. Like you gotta be careful. I think in this one. Yeah. I'm totally fine everywhere else.
[00:30:33] It's that one very short segment, you know, 15 seconds, 20 seconds. Oh, less than that. Probably. Yeah. Yeah. Possibly. Yeah. All right. One with my head and not my heart. Like there's some things that I'm like, oh, I really hope I end up with this. And I hope I end up with that because I love them so much and I want them.
[00:30:59] However, I don't want to get stuck in a couple of places that I feel like I don't have multiple options. Uh, so I'm going with these weird picks first. I, I don't know. For example, then my next pick is going to be a lounge. I'm hearing a lot of feedback. I hear me talking from one of your, uh, speakers. Thank God. I only hear you once. Yeah. You're making me hear me twice. Anyway, maybe it's your conscious telling you that was the wrong pick.
[00:31:30] Well, I'm going this way. All right. So my lounge experience is not very broad. I'm taking as a lounge, I'm taking Ogas Cantina. It is such a wonderfully fun place for all ages. Uh, alcoholic, non-alcoholic drinks. There are very rare and exciting times. Characters might be coming through like to see a storm trooper come through is just amazing. Um, the cast members who work in there are totally in character.
[00:31:59] It's so super duper fun. It looks amazing. It looks very much like it's straight out of one of the star Wars movies. And I cannot believe my two choices up to this point are both star Wars related. What, who, what is this happening? What is happening? So, um, yeah, I was afraid if y'all took that, I would be like, I don't know what to pick now. Uh, uh, this is one of my favorite. And, you know, there's the new pirates lounge at magic kingdom, which we've all been to. And we all love.
[00:32:28] I mean, I absolutely love it over the last couple of months. I've been saying, Oh, I love it so much more than Oga's. I think it's taken my number one pick. And then I went back to Oga's over our summer break vacation. And I was just like, man, I love being in here. It's just such a fun place to be. And just, it's so immersive with the cast members. And when the storm troopers come in, it's a, that's not a guarantee. That's like a fun extra magic happens and you're yelling together and you are sitting
[00:32:56] with other people that may, you know, you may not know. So keep that in mind. And the fuzzy tauntaun is just, I don't know. I'm just so happy when I'm sitting in there and I'm drinking one of those. It really is just really fun. And it really like all kinds of fun drinks. Even when I ordered a bottle of Dasani water bottle, it's labeled as if it's straight out of the movie. I mean, it's, it's very cool branding on all of their products. I think their Coke maybe had some, some funky branding and labeling too.
[00:33:26] And it's just really super cool place to be and super fun. And there is a time limit, just like a beacon barrel also has a time limit. You're also really going to want to get a advanced dining reservation in here. You can get in without it sometimes, but it's rare. If you know, you want to go just, just plan it. Just get that ADR. One thing. And this is just a pro, this is a pro tip. Okay. Drinks. Not that strong. The drinks at Beacon Barrel. One.
[00:33:55] And you're like, wow, the Beacon Barrel. The drinks at Oga's. Two fuzzy tauntauns. It's just kind of about the fun of drinking it. You know, it's not, they're not very strong. Even the little kids drinks and the non-alcoholic drinks, they're so fun. They're in character, you know, they're fun names, fun colors, fun, sparkly, bubbly, fizzy. I mean, it's just, it's really fun. And let's see, now I get to do another.
[00:34:25] This is very tough. You guys, as you know, do I go show also to go ahead and, and grab the, the other one that I really like? Because I mean, fantastic. Well, but y'all may think. Carl still has to pick a show. I'm trying to think my cat, my strategy here. Yeah. Let me go ahead and get a show. Let me, I would like to pick for my show, The Little Mermaid, A Musical Adventure. So cute. So good.
[00:34:55] Talented, talented singers. I really enjoy hearing this Broadway level singing. This is a quick show. Like it's not a very long show. I feel like it's, it's, I mean, maybe say significantly shorter than the Frozen show. They move a lot of people through. It's a small theater. So they kind of, I kind of feel like they need to do that to get as many people through as possible. And yet how they tell the story in such a quick time is really impressive.
[00:35:22] And I feel like it's an improved step up in the way they've done it. Because they have had to use some, you know, some screen elements with projecting the movie and kind of throw in a few little pieces of the story here and there to make it all cohesive. But the latest update, it is so well done. The technology that they use around the theater is really fun and bright.
[00:35:47] And like I said, just super musical and another one of those great little sing-alongs that it's, it's fun to see. But truly the, the star of the show is the talented Ariel singer. She's fantastic. And I'm very happy to pick that as my show. Lots of good shows. I have not seen the new rendition, but Little Mermaid was my jam. Like when I think of my favorite Disney movie growing up, it was Little Mermaid. It was all this, it was just like, yeah.
[00:36:17] I mean, the Ariel was my, you know, was my, uh, it's the word I'm looking for. What do people call it? She was your, I don't even, I know what you're trying to say, but I don't know the right answer. She is your, I gotta know what this is that I'm trying to figure out. Hold on. You're muted on purpose. All right. You muted on purpose. Okay. She's calling a lifeline. She's probably calling Becky. Oh my gosh. She's phoning a friend. She is. Can't believe what, well, you want to listen and hear this.
[00:36:47] We need this for the show. Okay. Yesterday, this is a trendy thing to say. You were watching those dancers and you said, that's my, it's like, everybody says it though. Roman Empire. My empire. Oh. I'm not blanking. What'd you say? You said that's my, that's my something empire. I don't even think this is that worth trying to figure out, but. No wonder we take two hour recordings. Yeah. Okay. All right. Thanks. Okay. Got it. Okay. Thanks.
[00:37:19] When we were younger, Ariel was like totally our Roman empire, right? That's she was on top. She was the one. And I think that show being re-imagined is great for now younger kids that are being introduced to Ariel. But really it's for us that grew up, well, not you States, but for us that grew up in the nineties. Wait a second. Us elder millennials. Wait a second. Tell me what year that was. Didn't she come out in 89? Wasn't it like 89? Oh my God.
[00:37:49] Yeah. Oh, six. Okay. Well, all right. Good pick. Little mermaid. Great. That was a really long pick. Nice job. Carla, that's to you. That took way too long. We have an adventure into quick service. And I know you guys might be thinking that I'm going to pick docking bay, but I am not. I'm going to be pretty true to where I'm at in my life, right? At this current moment. And it's been. No. Yeah. No, don't do it. Don't do it.
[00:38:19] Little tarts, everything. I'm going to pick Woody's lunchbox over in Toy Story Land. Pro tip is to order early in the morning for whatever you think you want to eat there because there is going to be a line. The windows are going to be taken for when you want to pick up food. So think ahead. Breakfast tots, lunch tots, pop tarts, all the things.
[00:38:46] Grilled sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato soup, adult lemonade. There's a little something for everyone. It's great. And it's one of my favorites right now. I'm with you. It's one of my favorites right now. I didn't have, I didn't have all, I wasn't working with a full set when I was, you know, having my experiences for Woody's lunchbox. Yeah. What are we talking about? A full set of what? Brain cells.
[00:39:16] I don't know. Experiences. My deck wasn't quite full. I like Woody's lunchbox. Yeah. The tots are great. And it's a good option. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Kids are going to be happy. They're going to easily find something to eat. Although I've talked and it is true that, you know, my kids aren't really sandwich kids. They struggle like with a grilled cheese. But for most families, this is going to be a very easy, safe bet. It's a good pick. Which goes then to me.
[00:39:45] And I do think my quick service pick is probably safe because I think I know what Stacy wants. But I don't know for sure. And there's only one other quick service that I really like, like a lot. The rest are all, I think, the same. Good but forgettable is kind of how I feel like the rest of them. I think that there are two that stand out above the rest. And so I am going to go ahead and snag the other one that I think is really, really great,
[00:40:14] which Carla already mentioned. And of course, that is Docking Bay. I think eating in Hollywood Studios in general can be difficult. And I think I usually save all of my dining for the end of my drafts. And here I've taken both dining options early. And that's because I wanted to make sure to get good options. And I don't think every option is. And so Docking Bay 7 is overall a great meal for a lot of reasons. Number one, thematically, it is perfect.
[00:40:44] Number two, the food is delicious. This is really good quality. And you can get vegetables. You can get something simple like mac and cheese, which I always refer to because we were there on such a cold and rainy day. And it hit the spot so perfectly. Like, it was so good. The chicken and the beef, like, it's all very quality food. There is a really good cocktail there. It's on the sweeter side. So keep that in mind.
[00:41:11] But yeah, the Docking Bay 7, not only a top two, in my opinion, quick service in Hollywood Studios, but probably number one. I think it's in the conversation for any quick service meals on property. And cost-wise, it's pretty expensive, which means it's a great way to utilize your dining plan. Obviously. Yeah. If nobody else has anything else to say about Docking Bay, I will leave that there. And I'm in a weird position. I'm in a weird position because I'm going to draft for the masses.
[00:41:39] And I think this is going to surprise everyone. This is hard to do, though. I can't believe I'm doing this. I'm going to take my ride. I know what you're going to do. And you're going to take Slinky Dog. I'm going to take Slinky Dog Dash. Wow. For my ride. Okay. And I'm going to do that for a few reasons. Obviously, Tower of Terror is not what I'm taking here. And I think that that is probably a little surprising. But I'm going with Slinky because it is more of a crowd pleaser. This is going to satisfy a wider age range.
[00:42:09] The memories you're going to have sitting next to your littles. It is a big coaster with a small height requirement. I mean, Slinky Dog Dash is an opportunity for really small kids to get on a really big attraction. If you don't get this lightning lane, you're going to be waiting over an hour minimum. Absolutely minimum. Any day of the week, any time of year, any time of day. This ride has a weight.
[00:42:37] And it's fun for adults. It's fun for kids. It is just a great attraction all around. And, you know, we just released a magic version where I went after Stacey's favorite barnstormer. And to me, right, like that's a little kid coaster. That's just like kind of dumb. But Slinky Dog Dash is not. You know, this is what I'm talking about when I had that argument. It's just this is a coaster. It is a thrill.
[00:43:05] And it is for little kids and big kids and adults. I feel like I want to jump into my defense of barnstormer again. I will refrain. All right. So I feel good about that. That's going to be my two picks. And it's going to snake us over to Carla. Okay, let's see what I have left here. Sit down restaurant show. Ride. Lounge while. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. Gosh.
[00:43:35] I mean, look at this sit down restaurant option that I have to choose. And I know that Stacey loves this one, but there's just really not that many options. So I have to go with 50s Brown Top Kitchen, which I have been known to describe as Grandma's Krusty Kitchen. This is all things nostalgic. You are sitting in your grandma's kitchen.
[00:43:59] You are getting reprimanded for having to eat your vegetables and take your elbows off the table. Fried chicken, milkshakes, salmon, Caesar salads, meatloaf. You know, it's all those comfort things, those comfort foods. It's a great option for the phantasmic dining.
[00:44:23] Um, it's just one of those, uh, like nostalgic settings that people love. I've always said this restaurant's about experience, not, not food. You've got an, you've got a restaurant here that's about the fun time, uh, which I do think it's fun. Not everybody does. Uh, but the food is so mediocre. I think it's fun and I like the food. I mean, it's very, I mean, it's nothing fancy, but it's very comfort food at home.
[00:44:51] I really think it's tasty. Um, but yeah, but I, I want you to know that was not my pick. And so I now feel so happy. I have the rest of my game, but when is it my turn? When is it my turn? It's your turn now. You could go to your turn now. Right? Yeah. I, my game is laid out. I have it the rest of the way. I'm so happy. Okay. I'm so happy. Okay. Okay. So I'm going with my wild card.
[00:45:20] Can't believe it. I get tower of terror as my wild card. Yes, I do. And that makes me happy. I'm giddy. If you can't tell, uh, tower of terror is before, uh, guardians of the galaxy came along. Tower of terror was my number one favorite Disney ride. And it absolutely still makes it my favorite ride in the park.
[00:45:46] That's why it felt so difficult to not choose it as my ride when I did pick rise. Um, and so getting in wild card is just chef's kiss. I am so, so happy. Uh, it is nostalgic. It is totally thrilling. It's got the, uh, really fun interaction with your cast member as you're going into the ride. I, it's got a great ride photo and video. It's just everything about it is so, so fun.
[00:46:14] Um, especially if you do a lightning lane with it, it is man. So good. If you do it right, you can do your lightning lane and do a find a standby time when, um, it's not too, too bad. And I'll ride it as many times as they'll let me, man. It's good stuff. Yeah. So I'm thrilled. Thanks guys. Y'all put y'all did great. Y'all did great. Okay. And then that brings me to, um, I'm going to go ahead and choose. Okay.
[00:46:42] Let my restaurant sit because you have filled those up. I don't have to worry about that yet. And I'm going to go ahead to the babies and toddlers. And I'm not sure what I should call this because I, I was either going to call it just animation courtyard, um, or I was going to call it like seeing characters. Animation courtyard. Now that that is a thing is probably the proper way of doing it, but they have so many great characters there and they are kind of eventually going to all be shifted there.
[00:47:11] That's my hesitancy now is because not everybody is there yet because I really, I wanted to include like the Pixar characters and I'm, um, I'm not sure they're going to even move because they're have their own little section. Olaf. I think he's great and he's, he's not there yet. However, the animation courtyard area. Oh, right now, currently your classic goofy Donald Pluto, uh, stitch, um, chip and Dale,
[00:47:40] all of these amazing, amazing characters wandering in the courtyard. There's not a line. There's not like a meet and greet time. You just hang out with them. They're dancing. They're playing around. Um, they're moving from spot to spot. So it's just, it's wonderful. Wonderful. And this area, I think if we include what's happening as animation courtyard, knowing that the Alice in Wonderland playground is also coming to this area. Yeah.
[00:48:07] And that would be its own like separate thing, right? It'll be back there, but it'll be its own separate thing, but animation courtyard itself. My expectations were honestly kind of low. It's amazing. It really is. Um, it is like my kids got to do a yoga class that was instructed by Donald and then they got to play duck, duck goose with Rapunzel. So it's so fun. It's unlike anything anybody's experienced before. And it's really cool. It's just literally hanging out with characters. That's a solid pick. Really good. Yeah. We had some line dancing with chip and Dale.
[00:48:37] They had a live little band and it was just super fun. Just so fun. Yeah. It's a cool little space to spend some time. It's pretty hot. It's really in the sun, but it's a really fun place to hang out with little kids for sure. No, no other park is anything like that. Yep. All right, Carla. Okay. I'm going to go to show. And, um, this past year with you guys, I experienced two new shows at Hollywood Studios,
[00:49:06] the new villain show, which was fantastic. And the beauty and the beast show, um, of the two, I am going to pick beauty and the beast live on stage. It is a Broadway style performance. There's singing, there's dancing. This is everything I wish was included when you dine at, what's it called? Yeah. At Be Our Guest. At Be Our Guest at Magic Kingdom.
[00:49:36] This is like what I envision being included in that meal. Um, I loved it. And as, as a first timer, like I always just passed it by. It's right off of Sunset Boulevard. It's easy to pass by, uh, but it's worth stopping for and watching. It's an open air theater. You're singing and dancing in your seat and it's amazing. It's, it's fantastic. It's fantastic. Yeah. That's what I have today, you guys. Wow. Beauty and the Beast is so good.
[00:50:05] It's brought, like, I love singing, dancing, choreography. It's all being done live. Shout out to the baker. He's great. It's just all really good. I love Beauty and the Beast. So great pick. I have a lot of nostalgia rooted in that show. My mom and I used to make sure just no matter what, I mean, like we left Blizzard Beach. She bought me a shirt in the gift shop so that we could see the last showing of Beauty and the Beast. Um, I was stopping wet. She literally bought me merch so that I could be dry and we went. It was so good. Okay.
[00:50:35] Hmm. I have three picks left and you all already have things. You're already done with two of them. So I have freedom there. So I will go ahead and go to lounge. I'm going to take Baseline Tap House. This is a great underrated secret spot. This is a brewery. I love breweries. They're huge here in the Midwest. Not sure about y'all, but that's like our go-to. And it has outdoor seating and tables. The food here is so good. This pretzel may be the best on property.
[00:51:05] Really, really good. There's a charcuterie board. This is a quick, really underrated spot to sit down and have some quality food and have some cocktails along with it. As a lounge, I don't know what more you want other than, you know, like the immersive theme that we talked about with Ogas. But at Ogas, there's not great food. So I think everything is a trade-off, right? And I think Baseline Tap House is a spot. I'm actually sad that I didn't get that one. Yeah. I knew that you'd go there if I didn't. And so I had to grab it. All right.
[00:51:35] So I have two things left. I'm going to go ahead and just do my wild card. I'm taking the land Galaxy's Edge as my wild card. You know, Disney has immersive land throughout multiple parks. And some are done extremely well. Some are done kind of on the quick side. Like, I don't think that they nailed it. Galaxy's Edge is a top. It's in the conversation to be the very best one at any Disney park.
[00:52:01] And it's certainly in the conversation as a guarantee to be in the top three. It is unbelievable replication of being part of Star Wars. The buildings, the food, the attractions, the characters, the immersion. You truly do step into another world. And I think for Star Wars and non-Star Wars fans alike, visiting Galaxy's Edge, when you turn the corner and you see the Millennium Falcon, it's like, wow.
[00:52:27] That's another one of those that I really wish I could go back to the first time that I experienced it. And it was such a fun time of my kids being like that, like seven to 10 range. Mm-hmm. And they used to dress up and you would meet and interact with characters. You would meet other Star Wars fans that were dressed up. Like, Liam used to wear a Stormtrooper outfit all the time. And he would meet a Jedi and they would, like, duke it out. It was the cutest thing.
[00:52:57] So cute. It just really brought, like, this unity of fans. And whether you were a Star Wars fan or not, like, to go up and see life-size, you know, Yeah. I always call them the wrong things. Spacecrafts. Yeah. The ships. What are they called? The battleships. I don't know. But also the Millennium Falcon and the little, like, hidden Mickeys that are within the Millennium Falcon
[00:53:24] and, like, showing other people those little hidden treasures. And, you know, seeing Chewbacca and hearing him come around the corner or seeing Rey hide from the Stormtroopers. Or seeing the kids playing with the droids that they just built. It's also, like, fan or not, you are going to really enjoy. And have an open mind. Don't think that you're not going to enjoy it because you've never seen a Star Wars movie.
[00:53:54] Do yourself a favor and maybe watch one. And get a little, you know, immerse yourself a little bit before you go. Yeah. It's very cool. It's so cool. It's, yeah. It's a great wild card for me to have. I'm thrilled about it. And that's going to go, Carla, your last pick. You do, too? Oh, no. I get one more. No, I did, too. Yeah. You did your, yeah. You based on it. Oh, yeah. You did based on it. Galaxy's Edge. Okay. Hush, this is hard. I think I'm going to go to Ride.
[00:54:24] And since we were just really glazing Galaxy's Edge, I think I am going to pick Smuggler's Run. And this is where you actually, if you're chosen, you get to drive the Millennium Falcon. And there's this really cool storyline. And I have had a lot of fun with this more so recently.
[00:54:46] And it was always kind of like a stranger manning the ship, you know, driving the ship. But this past time, my daughter and I were doing it. And we don't play video games. So to watch us try to navigate through this was quite hilarious. And I don't know if the people behind us thought it was hilarious, but it was so much fun. It's just great. And it holds really great memories for me.
[00:55:14] And it's just really one of those rides where you get to participate and everybody has a role. And you don't want to let anybody down. And every experience. I'm going to let you down. So every experience is going to be. Yeah, like I'm in for anything where the experience can change every time. And this is that. But also the queue. Going through the queue was really amazing. And I don't know. It's just a great one. Dare you say fantastic? Dare I say fantastic? Yeah, great pick. Really fun.
[00:55:42] Any Star Wars lover is going to want to go inside the Falcon. They've just done a renovation, a remodel and added some things that have just even upped it more. I'm with you. Great. Really fun. So, Stacey, that means you're going to finish out your draft board here. This is so crazy. Okay, I'm happy. So, I know Carla, I think she assumed I was going 50s prime time with my sit down. And I actually had on my list, and it has been preserved, is the Roundup Rodeo barbecue.
[00:56:12] I know we don't talk about it a lot because we often so, we're talking so much about getting a phantasmic dining package, which is truly important in this park. I love that, and I think we should. And it is not available here. So, I think we end up not talking about it as much as I like it. I really love this restaurant. Now, it is a carnivore's dream. It is a very meat-heavy, almost like all you can eat. Like, it is family style.
[00:56:41] They bring it out to your table. It is so much meat, like gout-inducing. I mean, it is so much. And it is so delicious and so good. And that's why you're really selling us. Yeah. Oh, I know, I know. Hey, listen. Meat lovers, they know about gout. I'm sorry. I do not have gout. Someone very near and dear to me has to worry about meat because of gout. Let me just say that. And it's a big family joke.
[00:57:10] It is a big family joke. So, I mean, the food is really, truly delicious. And there is a vegetarian option. If you are not a meat eater, if you are not a carnivore, you can go there. And they do have an entire plate option available to you that I've heard is equally as delicious. So, cannot testify to that personally. However, the food is great. That's the main thing I want to point out. Then you add in the immersion of Toy Story. And, wow, it is such a fun, fun dining experience.
[00:57:40] There are, as we have mentioned about Be Our Guest, wishing there was a little, they could push it a little bit farther, right? There's a little bit more I think could happen here with some character interactions maybe. However, the cast members themselves do such a fantastic job. Then, and the way it's, you're in an oversized space where you are a toy. You know, you are toy size. Everything in there is oversized.
[00:58:04] And then there is an Andy's Coming where everybody in the entire restaurant has this unified experience of dropping. Like, because Andy's coming, Andy's coming. It's just super duper fun. A great experience. Kids and adults. This is a great spot. So, I'm very happy to have that on my board. And if y'all don't have any comments. I just wish it was a, I just wish it was a character meal. Yeah. Yeah. It certainly could be pushed a little farther, right?
[00:58:33] But it is a, I mean, I could argue why they don't and kind of see why they don't. It's a small space. It would be very difficult for characters. I don't mean it's a small space as in there's not many people in there. They pack in a lot of people, but the tables are kind of close together. There's not a lot of space for character interaction. But I do feel like they could at the entrance or at the exit, which is where I think Lotso has been. But I may be wrong. They could definitely step it up just a teeny bit more. All right.
[00:59:02] I can move on to my last pick. However, if we're done with that. And it would be the quick service. And this is my very standard favorite quick service. Nothing flashy. The ABC Commissary. This is a family favorite of ours. We go there almost every trip. Now, Allie is not for it so much. And she'll say it's just a cafeteria. Well, no.
[00:59:31] It's a Disney version of a cafeteria. And it is really good. When you talk about a hearty grilled cheese, they have a buffalo chicken grilled cheese. That, oh, so good. A leveled up experience with that little simple dish. And it's not just your chicken fingers and hamburgers. It is a little more advanced than that. And huge space. Air conditioning. Easy to get in and out of. You're not going to be waiting. You're not going to struggle to find a seat.
[01:00:00] And it's a solid choice when you're hungry. It does have your mobile ordering. So I do suggest doing that. So I'm very happy to end up with that as my choice. ABC Commissary. Centrally located within the park. Wherever you are, if you decide you're hungry. It is an easy spot to get to. And I think anyone in your group will be happy to eat there. But I know you love it. And I knew that's where you were going to go. So good for you. And that's your whole board. Which means that Carla. That's my whole board. You have one pick left.
[01:00:30] I have one pick. It's the lounge. It's my go-to. Almost every time I'm in Hollywood Studios. It is the lounge at the Hollywood Brown Derby. It is completely separate from the reservation system. So you cannot get a reservation. Or at least pre-renovation. You cannot get a reservation here. You just walk up. And it's normally pretty quickly that you can get seated.
[01:00:56] If they soon to have an awning, that's going to be even more fantastic. This is the place where you are sitting and immersing yourself in all things that are Hollywood Studios. You have people walking by dressed up in Star Wars, dressed up as princesses. Everybody's got somewhere to go. They're rushing to a ride, rushing to a show. And you are sitting there with your famous Cobb salad, enjoying a crisp glass of Sauvignon Blanc.
[01:01:24] Or a grapefruit martini. It is absolute perfection. It's calm. It's delicious. It has almost a full menu. It's not the same exact menu that they offer inside the restaurant. It is a great pick. I definitely recommend it. Yeah. It's a great way to experience Hollywood Brown Derby without having to pay for experiencing Hollywood Brown Derby fully.
[01:01:50] And like I said, anytime you can get that Hollywood Studios immersion, I'm for it. And that's just last pick to me. Here's what I want to say. Everything that we've talked about today, almost every single thing we've said, I immediately flashed to a memory. When I saw that show with my mom. Or when I took my kids on that ride. Or when Zan and I had no kids and rode that ride. Like every single thing has been attached to a memory. Including what I'm going to pick.
[01:02:20] And this has had an overhaul since I saw it. But the Disney Junior Live dance party. Which is what I'm going to obviously be taking in my Good for Toddlers category. Disney Junior Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live is what it's called. And that's new. It is a great way for parents to cool down. And for kids to get the wiggles out. Shake, dance, party with their Disney Junior besties. And you know, we've said before. And I know we talk about it a lot.
[01:02:48] But so many of us can mark our kiddos and their childhoods based on the Disney Junior characters that were with them at the time. It's important. You know, those little early Disney Junior experiences. And the ability to get to go and just be free with them. Is so unique and special. And really what I've learned is that Hollywood Studios is just all about soaking it in. It's about soaking in the moments and soaking in the memories. And being with your family. And being with your kids. And knowing that this moment on this ride.
[01:03:17] Or this instance in this seat is going to be something that matters. That I remember. And that's what Hollywood Studios is about to me. It's all about soaking in the memories. And for any M&M's listening today, the magic word will be soaking. So that's how I'm going to finish my draft board. Will be the Disney Junior Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live. It's special. It's all very special inside Hollywood Studios. Makes me want to go to Hollywood Studios. I feel great about it. I don't think anybody could have gotten a perfect draft board.
[01:03:46] Because all of the picks were so strong. And now I have no idea how this is going to shake out. Because it's, I mean, every pick is a strong pick, right? Before we review our draft boards. And give a little recap of what you're going to get to vote for. I want to tell you a little bit about our friend like me. Ladies that we're highlighting today. First I want to talk a little bit about our friend Kayla. I know that when you're listening, a lot of times you M&Ms are thinking,
[01:04:13] when actually is the best time to visit Disney? And between managing crowds, costs, weather, exclusive events, and more. It's a lot more to think about and figure out when the perfect time is to go than you can even imagine. And our friend Kayla is offering a free guide. That's right. A free guide. That will explain and break down exactly when you should be going to Disney World. It is included as your membership to her group when you join her on Facebook.
[01:04:42] You can click the link in today's show notes. Or you can just visit Family Vacations with Kayla, Disney, Universal, Cruises, Hawaii, and more on Facebook. I also want to talk to you about Maureen. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to stay club level at a Disney resort or take a VIP tour? Or maybe a massage that the Grand Floridian is calling your name? Well, Disney Deluxe Resorts offer amazing views, restaurants, and theming, which we talk about all the time.
[01:05:11] And they can certainly elevate your magical vacation and make them even more luxurious. But Maureen is not only breaking those things down, but all of the little add-ons you can find when you are trying to level your vacation up and just make it a little more deluxe. You can make your next visit truly unforgettable by joining Maureen's Facebook community Doing Disney Deluxe Style. That's Doing Disney Deluxe Style. We'll catch you at the spa. And finally, let's talk about Monica.
[01:05:40] She is our dear friend and she is bilingual. She's a bilingual mom of two and she travels often. So often that I literally just talked to her this morning from an airport. If you want honest, real-time travel tips, Monica can give you advice based on what actually works. She knows because she goes and she speaks two languages. You can follow Monica on Instagram at House of Mouse and Beyond. Again, that's House of Mouse and Beyond for Spanish and English travel planning.
[01:06:12] Okay. These ladies totally support Moms Behind the Magic podcast. And in return, we absolutely totally support them. Not just because of that mutual support, but because we really believe in what they are doing out there. They are making your Instagram feed more magical. And they are making your experience in your Facebook groups more fun. And they really are doing it because they love to share. So thank you all for being part of the Moms Behind the Magic community and for allowing us to celebrate yours as well.
[01:06:42] And that was Kayla, Maureen, and Monica. Okay. Ready to break down how we did today? Yeah. All right. In Sit Down Restaurant, I took Hollywood Brown Derby. Stacey took Roundup Rodeo Barbecue. And Carla took 50's Primetime Cafe. In Quick Service, I took Docking Bay 7. Stacey took ABC Commissary. And Carla took Woody's Lunchbox. In Show, I got For the First Time in Forever, a Frozen sing-along.
[01:07:12] Stacey got The Little Mermaid. And Carla got Beauty and the Beast live on stage. Attraction for Babies and Toddlers, I took Disney Junior Live, the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Dance Party. Stacey took Animation Courtyard. And Carla took Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. In Ride, I got Slinky Dog Dash. Stacey has Rise of the Resistance. And Carla has Smuggler's Run, Millennium Falcon. In Lounge, I took Baseline Taphouse. Stacey has Oga's Cantina.
[01:07:40] And Carla has The Lounge at the Hollywood Brown Derby. And finally, in Wildcard, I have Galaxy's Edge. Stacey has Tower of Terror. And Carla has Fantasmic. Remember that you are going to be able to join us online in our Facebook community or in our Instagram stories this week to vote on every single one of these categories. Let your voice be heard. And let us know if we didn't draft something. Notably, we did not draft the brand new Rock and Roller Coaster with the Muppets theming, which, to be quite honest, I think is a bit lazy.
[01:08:09] I think it's just okay. The ride is still great. The ride is still the ride. But the layover just feels like, okay, now you're Muppets. Yeah. In fairness, I feel like it's an equal layover as Aerosmith was. It is still just fluorescent glow-in-the-dark cardboard within, around a roller coaster. But the pre-show is really cute and still very nods to the previous one. So it's okay. It's okay. Yeah.
[01:08:37] I think the honorable mention that's really sad for me that we did not have anywhere, I understand why we didn't, but I really love it, is Toy Story Mania. Really, really love that ride. So I just want to throw that in as an honorable mention. A fun little interactive game. Very competitive. If you have a competitive family, so super worth it. To get in there and play Villains. The Villains show. I know we kind of had a mention there, but it's a good one. Yeah. This is a great park. I think every pick would have been good.
[01:09:05] And at the end of it, we still have a bunch of things on the board that were also good picks. You know? And too many people are skipping Hollywood Studios. So if nothing else, I hope this episode has inspired you to add Hollywood Studios to your list if it wasn't on it already. And you can go make these memories and soak them in with your family and friends. And have the best day ever at Hollywood Studios. Okay. Join us. Join us. We're going to see who comes out on top. But at the end of the day, we all had a lot of fun. Right? That's going to do it for us on another episode of The Moms Behind the Magic.
[01:09:34] Until next time, we are sending you fun, love, and joy. Hashtag FLJ. And we'll see you real soon. Five, six, seven, and we are beginning. We're beginning in three, two, one. Wow. Okay. It's good enough. Alexa, don't play any music no matter what. Hey, you're down there. Your lighting looks really good.
[01:10:04] Do you have the warm light on? Like what light do you have on? It's warm. I wonder if I should change it to that. It's bright and warm. And I also have a window. See, my light, my windows are reflecting in my glasses. Let's see if this changes anything. Yeah. I feel like my light's a lot brighter than the two of y'all's. Okay, so that's the warm. Do I look better as warm? I like the warm. Okay. That's going to be even more fantastic. What the f***? F***. Ugh.
