39. 7 Best Disney World Resort Experiences - The Sleepy Episode

It's going to get a little heated here as things sometimes do as we try to create a list on the spot of the seven must-stay underrated Disney resort experiences. This is highlighting very specific rooms and views and locations and not resorts as a whole. And my friends tried to team up on me again, but let's just see how this shakes out. Maybe it goes a little bit more my way.

[00:00:25] Hey there, everyone. Welcome to another episode of the Moms Behind the Magic Podcast. I am your host, Allie, and I'm here today with Stacey and Becky. And I'm so excited to dive into another part of our seven-part series. But before we do, good morning. How are you guys? Good morning. It's Saturday and I love recording on Saturdays. I don't know if you're being serious or not.

[00:00:47] No, I love it. I really love it. I don't have a meeting that I need to run to. Like, I don't have anything. Well, I'm leaving for Disney and that's exciting. That's not stressful. Well, I didn't know you were going to Disney until you texted that this morning, first of all. And second of all, we were on a boat late last night, which is just part of why I was very tired this morning. It was fun, but, you know, it was late.

[00:01:10] And I told my friends that I was with, I have to record a podcast in the morning. And actually one of them is a big-time listener. So shout out to her. I'm sure she's hearing this. And she was like, do you normally record on Saturdays? And I was like, no, not typically. But schedules were just crazy. So it's, I can't believe you love this.

[00:01:29] My weekends, like this is a part of my joy. Remember, so I work nonstop, just like Allie works nonstop. We all work nonstop. But my week is so busy with work that when it comes time for the weekend, I get to just like breathe. And this is part of my fun. Like, this is a passion project. So I truly, truly love that I get to spend some of my relaxing time doing something I love so much.

[00:01:55] And this is, with all of us having very busy schedules, we're recording with probably one of our biggest gaps in between recording time and publishing time. Usually we're not recording this far out. And we kind of have a lot of these that we're cramming them in to get recorded because we've got a lot of things going on. So this is one, it's, we're recording on August 1st and it's not coming out to like September. So it's, that's a bigger gap than usual.

[00:02:22] By the time everybody's hearing this, kids are back in school. Life is normal again. But when I sat down to look at my August calendar, I was like, uh, there's not a single window of five minutes of space that are available to offer anybody anything. Yeah. And this is going to be, you know, I've got the one kid just in college now. So that's the only school situation I have going on. But we do have our family beach trip coming up. So I'm looking forward to that.

[00:02:47] So by the time this airs, I will have been to the beach and hopefully we'll be all nice and tan. I really would love to just get out in the sun for a little bit. I started talking about the saga of what in the world I was going to do for spring break. And it's really weighing on me. My friends that usually travel with us for spring break are coming into town today. And so I think we're going to nail something down. I think we'll sit down and we'll figure it out. So by the next time we do this and connect, maybe I'll know.

[00:03:12] I started talking about it last week because I really don't know, but you just said your family beach vacation. And now I was looking at house rentals on the beach, which by the way, is very difficult to find. If you don't want a condo, it's very hard to find something on the beach. I am learning because that's really what I want.

[00:03:30] And which kind of beach? Yeah. I have literally filtered everything I'm looking at just to be the Florida Gulf. And then I even moved it a little bit more into Alabama states. Like I have really just scattered myself because I love the Gulf and that's, I just want to do that. And that's actually going to be for a summer trip.

[00:03:49] Listen, we practice what we preach around here. Okay. I am going insane, planning my family vacations and trying to figure out what we're going to do. But you just said beach vacation. And then that reminded me that I have minimized on my screen right now. I have about eight properties saved that I'm looking at to look for a beach vacation. So maybe that is some of our signal problems. You've got too much going on your background of your looking for too many beach trips. My computer is trying to do way too many things at once. That's just typical.

[00:04:19] Yes, yes. Our original plan for this weekend was to go to the Gulf. Just Sean and I, he goes back to work. He's a teacher and he goes back on Monday. And so he's like, we need to get some time away. And we were going to go and just have a beach weekend. And then we realized that everything we were looking at was like, yeah, that's fine. That's fine. And but we could go stay at a Disney resort. Yeah. Yeah. So we're going and staying at Port Orleans. So I'm excited.

[00:04:48] Riverside or French? Riverside. And we're going to stay in the Royal Room just because I haven't been able to see it since it's been renovated. So I think we're going to talk about that. I think we're going to talk about that again in a little bit. We may be talking about that today. Yes. Listen to this. We were in Tampa teaching dance and this awesome studio that we worked for down there. We've been going for many, many years. That's what I do over the summer as I travel and I teach dance at different studios than my own throughout the country.

[00:05:15] So we were in Tampa and we drove out to St. Pete Beach, which is actually what spiraled me into this. I went to go to a golf vacation. And while we were having dinner at this amazing little beachside restaurant on the sand, that's like what I want. I want a house on the beach and I want a restaurant in the sand. Right. But you don't want sand in your food. Correct. Or in my shoes. And so I am sitting there and we're talking one of my friends who works. Actually, he's a cast member. He's texting and saying, I want to come visit y'all while you're in Tampa.

[00:05:46] But I only I have to leave really quickly on Thursday because I'm going to go see one of my one of my alumni students perform. And I know she's on a world tour right now. And I asked him, I was like, is she in is she here in Florida? I didn't know her schedule because I actually couldn't make any of her Midwest states. Turns out she was performing in Orlando on her world tour and she was able to last minute get a six comp tickets for me and my wife and our assistants that we had with us. And we got to go see her and we got to go backstage. But my point of the story was, I mean, that was obviously amazing.

[00:06:16] We had to drive from Tampa to Orlando and that meant we drove past Disney World. We drove past the exit, past the purple signs, past the Mickey electrical, you know, wires past Universal then. And I was like, there's something wrong with me. I was saying I, yeah, I am having a huge reaction to the fact that we are not going there, but it's right there. And I would really like to go there. And there was even a moment where I thought, should I just book a hotel room for the night?

[00:06:45] And then I was thinking, why would I do that? Like, what would the point be? Well, I would we had an early flight out of Tampa. Like, what are we what am I even imagining? But even just driving by became incredibly problematic for me. Yep. That was my feelings the first time I went to Universal. My first trip to Universal, I was like, but Disney's right there. It was really hard for me. It's tough being that close and not being able to see it. Yeah. All right. I have. OK. Can we switch gears for two seconds?

[00:07:11] This is just something that I heard. And we talk about the way we say things a lot. Right. We particularly pick on Becky sometimes with some of the things she says. Rightfully. Rightfully. Sometimes. Sometimes. No, I don't. I don't say. I don't say weird things. You just said something that I was like, it's very interesting to me. Allie, you said something. And I don't know if I just want to hear if Becky heard it or if it's if this is one of those things where it's just me. I'm incredibly curious. Say spring break. Spring break.

[00:07:40] There was something in the way you emphasized it. You emphasize the wrong thing. Spring break. Like you said. Yes. You said spring break. Yeah. So wait, you can't enunciate. The enunciation of the letters is interesting. Can't enunciate. Because spring break or spring break. Spring break should be your adjective. It's the break. Spring is the adjective to the break. Oh, you're springing your shoulders while you say it. It's not spring break. It's spring break. Oh, the break is the. It's the break is noun.

[00:08:10] Break is the subject. It's the break of spring. It's the break of spring. Well, I heard it. I heard it. I'm just saying it. I heard it. It was spring break. So again, once once once again, there's nothing weird about what I say. I don't know. It was weird to me when you said it. We're planning our spring break. Ohio is the foundation of American norm. Language is what I've come to accept. The heart of Ohio or the heart of the country. Maybe. It might be.

[00:08:38] Have you ever looked at the shape of my state? You're literally the heart. Yes. Okay. All right. Well, I thought it was very funny that, you know, you just said you were going to go to the beach and then you were like, but we could just go to Disney. And I was for spring break. And I think when I was telling that story, Stacey, I was just getting excited. I was trying to be all inclusive saying spring break. Spring break. Yeah. It's August 1st and you're talking about spring break.

[00:09:06] And I'm like, do the kids go back to school next week? Yes. Oh, my gosh. I cannot think about spring break yet. Well, that's it. You go back to school and you're like, oh, I'm ready for a break. I have to. Yeah. I know. Yes. I know. I have to because I started looking through my calendar. And when I saw the number of days in a row that were going to be just pounded with things, I thought, well, we need a break immediately. And so that's going to be the next one is spring break. So I have to. Oh, it's Thanksgiving for me. We are going to Disney for a week in Thanksgiving and I cannot wait.

[00:09:35] You stay in your normal timeshare? Yeah. We'll stay at our timeshare for the week. The girls will have an apartment. This is a really weird space. Like our girls are moving into an apartment, a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment, just the two of them in a week and a half. And we're going to then go stay in Orlando because where else would we go if you live in Florida? Apparently the beach is more of a day trip. We do not want to do overnight beach trips, apparently. I don't know. So that's the question is we're getting our condo. We have a four bedroom condo and it's in Orlando.

[00:10:05] The girls will be in Orlando. They have an apartment. Like, do we do the full four bedroom or do we go down to a two bedroom and have them sleep at their apartment? No, they want to sleep with their family. They're definitely going to come stay at the condo is where we landed. But it is still just weird that we have like a grown up kids that have their own apartment there all the time. That is weird. Yeah. I'm so excited about it though. Yeah. Well, I think it's strange that you just said Floridians just do day trips to the beach

[00:10:35] because I was really, I was really close to where Carla lives when I was teaching down there, probably 10 minutes from her house. And I was maybe an hour and 10 minutes from Katie's house. So close enough to both of them that we went to St. Pete and I was like thinking how amazing it was and how awesome that beach was. And then I thought to myself, I never see either of them at the beach. Like ever. Yeah. The beach becomes, I go to the beach often. I wouldn't say as much as when we first moved here.

[00:11:05] I never see you at the beach. I post in my stories probably at least once a month I'm at the beach. I guess I just don't think of once. I mean, that's 12 times a year. You know. It's a lot. 12 times a year is a lot. 12 day trips to the beach. She's at the beach once a month. I don't think she goes. It could be just 20 minutes from me. I don't think she goes once a month though. I'm challenging that. I'll go back and look at my pictures. We'll test this. But I'm at the beach at least 12 times a year. I would say it's probably more than that. We actually love lots of restaurants on the water as well. Yeah.

[00:11:33] That's what I think if I lived in, I would probably be proved wrong because it would become my norm. But in my head, I imagine I would, that's what I would want is to eat at those really good seafood restaurants on the water. I love any, last night when we were on that boat, we got to take it down on the Ohio River through Cincinnati. It was amazing. But they took us to this like beachy restaurant on the water. It was a lunch spot and you could dock your boat and then go up and eat and, you know, to be in Ohio and do that, which for Ohio is really rare, you know, and there was a bunch of outdoor things.

[00:12:03] When we left, I said, I loved that because it was a cool environment. My son was like, I don't know what you mean. I said, I just love any dining experience that's going to have a good atmosphere. So out in the water or, you know, whatever. Okay. Well, it was good catching up with you. I haven't, I feel like talked to either of you in a minute because life has been so crazy. So that's really what this early part of the podcast is all about. But we're going to do something really fun today and go to part three of our seven part, seven dwarfs series here.

[00:12:32] We're going to cover Sleepy today. And I cannot wait to kind of explain what that's going to be. And I think it's going to be so helpful and very fun for our M&Ms that are planning a vacation. [00:14:30] When my twins were babies, I would, even just for Thanksgiving Day, even if we were just going to my parents' house for Thanksgiving and we were just going to be there for the day, we would bring two pack-and-plays, high chairs to sit at the table. It was crazy. My dad would just stare at us and shake his head. Like, I can't believe that this is all for a day. And I'd be like, yeah, y'all want to help us? No? Okay. So I, you know, that was almost, oh my God, that was almost 10 years ago, which is wild.

[00:14:56] Had I known back then what I know now, I'd have just had all that stuff dropped off at my parents' house and ready. Yeah. And they would come pick it up and you don't even have to like stress about it. Yeah. What kind of car did you drive? Oh my gosh. To take all that stuff and have, because the twins are, the twins are younger. So you had three young kids. Yeah. I think if I were a mom of an infant now, I would be a little less, no, I would be a lot less neurotic that I was really a little, a little nutty back then.

[00:15:23] And so I was, we have to take our naps at the right time for the right length. Then we brought the pack-and-plays and I just, okay, we're going to talk about sleepy, sleepy dwarf today. And we're going to bring you what we feel are seven underrated resort experiences, seven recommendations for planning a stay from the lens of where you're going to be laying your head and making memories at a Disney resort with your family and friends while you're on a Disney vacation. We're going to bring a list of our favorite seven.

[00:15:53] So each of us have a different list based on tried and true advice from us, moms who have actually been there and done these. And then we're going to discuss each option and we're going to decide, should we add it straight to our favorites list, which we only have seven spots, or should we put them in the lobby, make them wait on their, on their spot to decide if they deserve a spot in the top seven ultimately. Now we went back and forth a lot on how we wanted to discuss this. And we talk about resorts at length on this podcast all the time.

[00:16:20] And I think you love a resort for specific reasons, the pool, the transportation, the food, the environment, the vibes. But once you pick your resort, the room experiences are a completely separate thing. And we never really dig into all of the different room types that you can experience. And so today we're going to be talking about room experience, room types that you can book that can elevate your Disney vacation with your family, things that maybe you're not considering

[00:16:50] or you don't even know exist. I had fun making this list, but there is a point kind of toward the bottom of my list where I was not sure. I'm still not sure how I'm going to present it, but I did have fun making my list. I had so much fun making this list and I have more than seven. I ended up having to cut quite a few because as somebody who has stayed at every single Disney resort, there is a reason to love every single Disney resort.

[00:17:15] But now I've made a new list and I'm now trying to collect all of the different types of rooms. Like it fits perfect within this. Like I told you, tonight we're going and staying at the princess room at Porter Leans Riverside because I've stayed at Port Orleans Riverside, but not in the new princess rooms. And so I want to collect all of these spaces and it just makes me so excited to collect all of these new memories or go back and visit ones that we have loved from our previous days. Yeah.

[00:17:43] Stacey, did you ever decide that you absolutely understand exactly what we're doing here? She's stretching through the mud. I noticed I was just sitting here quietly and I'm just trying to figure out what are we talking about? I was the one. Okay. So our, our text threads are quite humorous and there's always somebody who doesn't quite catch on. Like, I mean, honestly, it kind of flip-flops around between the five of us. Somebody's not, you know, we pick on you for sure about not paying attention to the text,

[00:18:13] but I mean, it was definitely me last night. I was like, I don't know what you're talking about. This is, I kept saying the word, it feels muddy. I don't understand. Like what you're saying just did not sound normal to me. And so, and now I'm on an early Saturday morning with not very much sleep. So it should be really even more hilarious what I know or don't know. I think as long as you don't tell us to book like a Minions family suite, we're going to do good. Okay. Well, good thing. I don't have Minions on my list. We're good. Yeah.

[00:18:44] Okay. We'll be like Stacey's idea. Bless her heart. She thought that that was a good idea. Okay. I just want to not go first. Just don't, I'm not going first. I'm going to, you know, I want to follow your lead. All right. Well, I'm actually going to let Miss Resort's day give us our first list. Which one am I going to go with first? Okay. So I'm going to start with one that I think is incredibly both underrated and not talked about enough.

[00:19:13] This is a resort that a lot of people completely overlook and honestly don't even know exists for a lot of people. You may or may not already know where I'm going with this. I constantly want to stay here. Stacey was about to stay here in the next year and then ended up canceling to try something else, I believe. And that is a cabin at Disney's Fort Wilderness.

[00:19:39] This is a cabin that they are individual cabins you can pull right up to with your car. Or if you are flying in, you can rent a golf cart to get around the wilderness or the Fort Wilderness area as a whole. You have a comfortable sleeping space for six people. You have a separate bedroom. You have a full kitchen. You have a fire pit. A grill. A grill. A grill. A grill.

[00:20:05] A space for you to go explore what the Hoop-dee-doo review looks like just not too far away. And you are in the same vicinity as Magic Kingdom, just a boat right away. I mean, of course, then you have to get on a bus. So it's not completely, completely pain-free in this space. But if I could go spend a week in a cabin at Fort Wilderness, my heart would be so happy. And I'm not even a camper. Like, please don't put me in a camping situation.

[00:20:35] This is on my list, obviously. This is a must-do. The way I'm looking at this list is these are seven experiences you should prioritize at Disney. I'm going to take it one step further. Tell me if you think this is a smart way to play this. I set a cabin during either Halloween or Christmas or the holidays. That's a no-brainer. You know, more specifically, to narrow it down, since I'm looking at this as an experience to have, you know, people will decorate these for Halloween and the holidays.

[00:21:03] And you can take your golf cart and you can drive around and you can see people's decorations. Dare I say people will trick-or-treat around these cabins during, you know, the Halloween time. So this is on my list, absolutely. I did narrow it into a smaller window. Not that it wouldn't be fun any time, but as an experience, if you can prioritize doing this during one of those holidays, that's kind of what I would do for pro tip. We have this booked for, well, we have it wait-listed because I'm a DVC member for October of this year.

[00:21:31] So working towards marking it off during one of those holidays. Oh, that would be amazing if it happens. If it doesn't happen, we're going to be at the Polynesian. So it's going to be fine. But I do have it. You know, wait-list. Oh, you're going to have to settle at the Polynesian. That's really, really rough for you. I know. But it can also be not just Halloween and Christmas. Also, I saw they had a golf cart parade for the 4th of July. Like there is always something going on. And I've never stayed there during a holiday. It's high, high on my list.

[00:22:00] But you can have so much fun there no matter where it is. It would be leveling up to an even better experience if you were there experiencing, for instance, the trick-or-treating on Halloween. Yeah. That is... So let's call this, let's call this if we're all fine putting it on, let's, a cabinet for wilderness on a holiday. Because I really do think that is an experience, that is a peak experience. Imagine, you know, I'm a person that wants to wake up in my home on Christmas morning. But I don't want to wake up in a resort room necessarily. I know a lot of people do. I help a lot of people do that. It's very fun.

[00:22:29] Some people, that's their thing. I could see myself waking up in my own little individual family cabin and making, you know, Christmas breakfast there and opening gifts there. Or, you know, we're at Disney World, so probably not that. That's probably the kitchen up. But, you know, doing whatever it is. I just think a cabin at the holidays is a peak experience. Okay. And now I want to go spend Thanksgiving Day at a cabin. Right. Imagine that. Imagine you book... I do too. Imagine cabins.

[00:22:56] Imagine you and your family book a couple of cabins close together. Because I think a lot of this episode is going to also lean into requests. So you can request... Obviously, they're not going to guarantee it. But Disney will do a really good job trying to accommodate. You can request the same cabin loop and even cabin numbers and areas. So if you book with your family, perhaps on Thanksgiving Day, you could try to get cabins right there. Cook in somebody's. Kids are hanging out. Oh, my gosh.

[00:23:20] You know what else I didn't say about the cabins is the sleeping arrangement is actually really, really great for lots of different types of families. These are newly rebuilt cabins. They are fresh... I don't know. I don't even want to say, like, fresh off the factory line because I don't know whether they built them there or they brought them in. But they are brand new. The bedroom, you should be aware, is it is a lock-off bedroom. But it is a queen-size bed with... It might be a king-size bed. No, it's queen. It's queen. Yeah, it's queen.

[00:23:48] And then bunk beds inside that same room. So it's not like you're getting... The new ones are that way too? Yeah, the bunk beds are still in that same room. And then the other bed is a Murphy bed that comes down over the couch. It's not a pull-out sofa, uncomfortable sleeping situation. As a family of five, we would easily sleep comfortably. And even with full-grown adult... I don't want to say adult children. They're young adults, teens, etc.

[00:24:14] But even in that case, we still slept very comfortably in this cabin with a full kitchen, a table, like, a full-size bathroom that just gives you room. Like, it's just... It's perfect, guys. I love it. It's one of only, I believe, two spaces at Disney. You can get a bunk bed. Where else are you thinking? Oh, well. I know. There is another place. There is another place. It may get mentioned. Interesting to see if it comes up. Yeah, interesting thought. Yeah, so really fun. You know, just a fun little nod. Buckles are fun for kids, yeah.

[00:24:42] I mean, I think we've already got Allie saying that, yes, this is on the list. I totally agree. We did have it scheduled. And we've changed our plans. And that will come up as well. It was just numbers. The numbers of who's going to end up going on our trip. Is it rearranged where we're going to be staying? But I was so excited to have this on. We were going to do two cabins and request the next-door neighbor thing. And it's a little bit of a bummer, but we have something excellent planned in its place.

[00:25:12] But I think, yes, this is such a fun place. So I think there's no doubt it goes on the list. I also, you know, we are talking about resort room accommodation experiences on this episode. But I would be problematic if I didn't at least mention. This is perhaps a stay where you either have to be there so long that you have enough down days, that they're not all park-focused. I mean, you don't have to, but I just think you're either making this primarily about the resort

[00:25:39] or it's a long enough stay that it doesn't have to be all park days. Or maybe you do a split stay where you do your park days attached to somewhere else and then you do some downtime here. Or maybe the trip is long enough that you have enough down days here. Or maybe you just do a resort-focused trip. Any way you spin it, I think you're missing the mark if you do sunup to sundown park days every day you're in a cabin. Because you can go horseback riding. You can do archery. You could just ride that golf cart around. It's so much fun.

[00:26:08] So many things to see and do. And it doesn't even feel like Disney anymore. But it does because it's Disney's version of these activities, which is always better. I actually think that that's a perfect way to have this kind of a resort stay is focused on the resort and maybe sprinkle in a couple days of Disney into your stay here. And so it's almost like a flip-flop of what a lot of Disney vacations are. I actually just worked with a family that they had a super long vacation.

[00:26:36] They were staying at Fort Wilderness and they had really long ticket as well because the more days you add on to your ticket, it doesn't really up the price that much. So I think they ended up with like seven or eight days worth of tickets. And of course, they did not just go sunup to sundown seven or eight days. I was honestly talking to them and watching their trip. I was a little jealous. I had a little promo. This is a really fun way to do Disney for real.

[00:27:03] I have probably, I've probably helped over a thousand families go to Disney at this point easily. Easily. That's probably the number. And I have booked archery one time. I have booked horseback riding one time. People just don't know that this exists. And I tell them, you know, as somebody that's working with me, I tell people and it's information, but this is just such an under the radar experience at Disney World. So it is.

[00:27:31] And I will add as a caveat that if you are staying at a cabin, it is 100% worth the investment in a golf cart or a rental car, or like if you drive in and have your own car. It is not convenient if you do not have a mode of transportation to get yourself around. Think of it as a campground and you have to get places. You definitely want to have that. All right. We can be done talking about it, but I really do love it. What else? It's on the list. Okay. I'm going to go. I'll go. I'll pitch one. You already took one off my list, so that's good.

[00:28:00] And that's kind of the way this will work. I bet we're going to have a lot of overlaps. Okay. I am going to go to what I think is a pretty obvious one. And I am going to say a Finding Nemo family suite at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. And the reason I say that is because these suites are a higher price point, but I still think Finding Nemo has to be included on the list because when you are a family with young kids especially, but even with older kids that grew up on these movies, and you think about your Disney vacation and that all-inclusive bubble feel, that bubble vibe,

[00:28:30] and you're envisioning what that looks like, this resort is it. And the reason I'm saying the Finding Nemo suite is because the family suites are very, very special rooms on property. You get extra space, but not at the price point of a villa. You get a kitchenette, but not a full kitchen, which to be honest, like my family doesn't need a full kitchen on vacation. That's just not what we're doing. And then it's the preferred location. Art of Animation is a really large property. It has a lot of walking involved.

[00:28:56] And when you're in the Finding Nemo area, you are close to the main pool. You are close to the main food. You are close to the transportation, Skyliner, and buses. You're at the central point of this resort. So Finding Nemo is going to be close to the gift shop, the food, anything you could possibly want while you're there. And it is the most fun Disney resort in terms of theming. So I say Finding Nemo suite at Disney's Art of Animation Resort is a top experience that a family can book.

[00:29:25] I do love this category. However, I want to put it in the lobby for a moment because I think family suites are amazing. I, as a family of five, need sleeping accommodations for at least five people. The problem that I have with the family suite of Art of Animation in general is that we still are dealing with a pullout bed for one of the sleeping spaces, which an adult body does not want to sleep on a pullout bed.

[00:29:52] I also think that there is an alternative family suite that is in a better sleeping situation for my family in particular, and the price point is lower. I do not think it is an equal experience to Art of Animation, but the family suite at All Star Music is a strong contender for something to be considered because... Slow down! Slow down! Slow down! You're talking about another resort. Just... Well, that's fine if you want to send one.

[00:30:19] But I don't think this other resort's going to get on there, so I want to be like, which of these two are we going to consider? Well, you're going to take stuff off my list then. That's okay. I think we can talk about these two side by side because I don't think both of them are going to go. So in this space, All Star Music family suite needs to be considered, and I personally like it better because you're still in the Disney bubble. You're probably at least $100 a night cheaper than at Art of Animation.

[00:30:46] You are getting to have five to six grown people sleeping in a room, and you are getting a full kitchen rather than just getting a kitchenette. Thoughts? I'll just say ditto. I could not disagree more. If I'm making a top seven list of experiences to stay in Disney World, All Star Music is not making that list. Art of Animation is making that list, and then Nemo Suite being the most—look, most families staying in—to your point, Becky, a family of five.

[00:31:16] If you're staying at any regular resort that sleeps five, one of your family members is getting a child-sized pulldown. That's not going to work either. And so your argument kind of becomes void at the point where you're going to have adult children. I definitely hear what you're saying. At the point where you're going to have adult children, you need to book two rooms. Most of the people in these family suites have little kids. I mean, truly.

[00:31:40] This is—All Star Music is accommodating for beds, but it is not a must-stay experience for Disney guests. Okay, may I have a turn? I want a turn. Yes, please. Please, please. Because I—and I'm going to go out of order because I've got to do this. So one of my—my stays that I was bringing is All Star Music, specifically because I think we need an All Star on the list as a 101 Disney bubble availability.

[00:32:05] I think there are so many families who have not taken the plunge. They have—they have been too afraid. Maybe they are a young family, young couple, don't have a lot of income yet. They're at the early young family stage of life where vacations are certainly a lot of work for them. And they're afraid of Disney World because of the price tag.

[00:32:31] I think All Star Music—well, All Stars in general, but because of the family suites, it puts All Star Music a step above the others, in my opinion. Because if you do want to bring in grandparents to help out, maybe even with the kids when they're little or the cost, I do love that the beds are three full queens versus the little pullout. You guys. Allie is freaking out. Because if we were doing a list of the most— She's not willing to get rid of her seven.

[00:33:00] Because you have— Because it needs to be there for the people. I agree. It does. If we were making—I agree. And if we were making a list of the most economical stays, it would be top of the list. All Star Music Family Suite has minimal theming. It honestly—like, it's—I can't even believe that we're considering putting an All Star Music Family Suite on a top-set and must-stay experience at Disney World. And it's where you're going to stay and have a great time.

[00:33:25] People who have never stayed at Disney World, All Star Music is going to blow their ever-loving minds. They're going to be so excited being on property in the bubble at Disney World, possibly for the very first time ever. And they're going to be losing their minds. I agree. But this episode is about— They're going to be so excited. I agree. But this episode is about us talking about the seven best experiences you can have on property. And I'm sorry, but all this one is— It's not seven best.

[00:33:53] It's seven underrated things people should consider. And this is why I wanted to talk about it in consideration. Well, even that was so muddy. Y'all were saying two different things. And I'm like, if we're calling it the sleepiest, this is where we're going to— It's not going on the list right now. It's not going on the list right now. Yeah, it's definitely not going on the list. M&Ms. I want y'all hearing this. I got your back. M&Ms. You need to hear me. No, I have their back, too. If we were doing an episode on economically smart choices— It's not just about you being economic, though. It is.

[00:34:23] It's going to be a wonderful day. No, you would not pick—I'm sorry. You would not pick an All-Star Music family suite over an Art of Animation family suite— I would. —if not for economics. I would. For sometimes. I would. Oh, 100% for beds sometimes. Yes, you would. For beds, for a full kitchen, a full-size fridge. Yes, I would. I would choose it over the theming. Because the kitchenette at All-Star Music is really not even a kitchenette. It's exactly the same as some of the other little spaces. It is a tiny countertop. It's a drink cooler. With a cooler.

[00:34:52] Yes. It's not a kitchenette. I can't remember if it has a sink. Surely, I don't know if it even has a sink. It has a sink, a microwave, a fridge. Yeah. It's a kitchenette, but it's a small one. Yeah. The kitchen experience at the family suite at All-Star Music is a really great addition for a lot of families that need to have a kitchen space for whatever reason, for medical reasons. If you're a pumping mom and you need to store your milk for whatever reason, like you have an actual fridge freezer. It's not just...

[00:35:22] Okay, but I right now have basically been painted in a light that I am not in the corner of people that need to save money or people that have medical needs. And it's like, no, I am here to support all of that. No, I don't think that's where it's coming from. Like, my God. No, we're not saying that. I'm really not. I really am making the art. It's a far better experience. No. Look, I love Nemo. I was like, yes, I agree with everything you said. Because Nemo, the Nemo suites are so awesome. So fun.

[00:35:46] However, I think there is a space in this list of seven things that All-Star needs to be there to give people that hope of being at Disney World for the first time. Because if it is your first visit to Disney World, and if you know, I can't, you know, they're going to look at the price tags of these other places. Well, I can't stay there at all. So I'm not going. I'm not going. But All-Star is so exciting, so wonderful, and you should do it. Yes.

[00:36:15] And on our Doc Strategies episode, I feel like something like that is going to be great. Saying for sleeping. If you need to play, if you're going to be sleeping somewhere at Disney World versus sleeping somewhere off of Disney World. Art of Animation Family Suites do have microwaves, ma'am. Fact-checked and verified. Fact-checked and verified. Okay. Oh. Okay. Lobby. It's going to have to be a lobby. One of these needs to go on there.

[00:36:42] Honestly, the Family Suite of Art of Animation, the Cars one is actually what I would choose over Nemo, personally, having stayed at both. It is great to be closer to the Central Hub, but the Cars theming, to me, is the best theming of all of the three available options. The Little Marine is not a family suite, and the Lion King. Lion King is just not my show. It's great. It's a great, fun suite. Oh my God. Here we go again. This is the best animal movie. Yes. This is so lame.

[00:37:14] Okay. So. Oh gosh. We're putting those of these. Put it in the lobby and let's see what else we have. And then we'll see which one of this, where this is going to land on the actual list. We're putting Finding Nemo in the lobby also, right? Yes. Finding Nemo and All-Star Music Family Suite. Or All-Star Music in general. No, not in general. We're not doing resorts. Yes, in general. We're doing stays. No, we're doing resort. I know. Staying at All-Star. No. Staying at All-Star is a one. No. So is staying at Polly, but that's not what we're talking about. We're talking about a room experience.

[00:37:44] Okay. A room experience at All-Star, which yes. Yes. Okay. Put them in the lobby. Let's move on and see where we get to. Oh my God. I agree that economically it's so, such a wonderful thing. And like so many people love it. But this is not like an underrated experience. So you wanted to say that this is, so you're saying that this is bougie sleepy? Like instead of sleepy, we have an eighth dwarf bougie. No. No. No, that's not what I'm saying. So there's eight dwarfs now, guys.

[00:38:12] Happy, dopey, sleepy, bougie. All right. All right, cynical dwarf. Tell me what, tell me what you have. I guess another one. Yeah. Well, to prove to you that I'm not only picking the value resorts, I'm going to go with what we switched to away from the cabins when we needed to make our switch. I also picked a value resort. Stop painting me like I can only pick deluxe. What the hell? But you picked the deluxe of the value resorts. Oh my God.

[00:38:42] Because it's a great experience. God. Go ahead. Okay. Anyway. Go ahead, judgy dwarf. What am I, what am I, what am I getting? I am going to go with the Savannah View Room at Animal Kingdom Lodge. And that is what we have switched out to. We are doing a villa so that it is a family arrangement for nine of us to be in the same space together. But that part is not what I'm necessarily arguing needs to be on the list.

[00:39:11] You don't have to have a multi-bedroom villa. But I do think the Savannah part of staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge is the experience that takes it up a notch. And really is one of those situations where you also should plan some time to stay at your resort. Animal Kingdom Lodge has so many downtime experiences really for the relaxation of it, for the fun, for kids.

[00:39:36] This is, I'm so excited to have a grandbaby that is, her love for animals is growing by the day. And it is so fun. Like every day she's sending me a picture of something new she has drawn, some new little animal. And I'm like, this, she doesn't have any idea she's going to Animal Kingdom Lodge. And I just, I cannot wait for that. So you've got the Savannah experience. You know, you can experience it as you walk out the lobby. I mean, there's lots of places to experience it.

[00:40:02] But to be able to look out of your bedroom window from the balcony and seeing zebras running. I just remember the time I saw zebras running from my bedroom. I was like, this is so out of this world experience. I remember the time I saw zebras mating outside mine. That was a thing too. Yes. I'll tell you what, this is easily on the list. For sure. Yeah.

[00:40:27] I think it's such a unique experience that you can't experience many places. I could cry. That was a bawling mess on the Happy episode. I could cry talking about this as well. Well, we have stayed Savannah View with our family maybe the most, which is going to be surprising, I think, to a lot of people. I have so many memories of my baby's binkies and mouth looking out at those animals. And, you know, I actually think Animal Kingdom is the easiest park not to go to with little kids.

[00:40:56] My recommendation is that you go to all of them. But if you're going to skip one, Animal Kingdom often makes sense, which I think is also surprising to some people. And that's just my opinion, of course. But when you can get this animal experience elsewhere, right, than inside the park, and it really is a true, truly immersive experience. Yes, you can stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge with a different view type. And yes, that would still be amazing. And you would still get to see the animals, like Stacey said, and you would still get deluxe perks and you would still be in an incredible space.

[00:41:26] But my recommendation is Animal Kingdom Lodge is not a super convenient resort. It's very far away because it has these animals in savannas. So if you're not capitalizing on the thing it does very best, I might recommend you look elsewhere. Maybe. Maybe not. It's a conversation. If you can strategize, save, do whatever you need to do to get in a Savannah View room at Disney World, your family will never forget it. Completely agree.

[00:41:51] Do you all find that there's a difference between Jumbo House and Kidani Village if you're staying Savannah View? Or do you think that you could do either and be happy? I personally have only stayed in Kidani Village. Yeah, I've never even had a Jumbo. Yeah, I've not stayed in Jumbo House. I expect that it's... What about you? I mean, have you seen... I've stayed both. Have you stayed at both? Okay. I've stayed both. And I love both of them. I didn't really notice a difference.

[00:42:16] However, if your dining is important to you, because the two are connected and there is a shuttle that can run between them, but it is not convenient to go between the two. So if you are pulled towards wanting to have a specific dining experience or the lobby is really important to what you're hoping to get out of staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge, that could be a differentiator between which of those two you're booking your Savannah View with. Yeah.

[00:42:41] Jumbo House does have the bigger lobby type experience and Kidani Village is a much, much smaller lobby. I just love being at Animal Kingdom Lodge. I completely agree. It is such an amazing resort. And being on the Santa... But Becky, I'm a little curious why the bed situation at Animal Kingdom Lodge is not problematic for you because they have a lot of pullouts. They're very uncomfortable. That's a good question. I will bring it up. It just doesn't matter here, I guess. Adults can sleep in crap, you know. It is true. It is true.

[00:43:10] There have been room updates. Doesn't matter here, though. The room updates are... Well, and I just want to say, those very uncomfortable pullout beds and couches and stuff, they have been fixed. They are now Murphy off the wall. They're working through the villa section. They're not all fixed throughout the entire resort. Yes. Correct. Correct. But, you know, you certainly can have that option available to you now, whereas that was not before. I would say this is not an issue for me because I can't book my family a five-in-one room.

[00:43:38] Where I can, at All Stars and Art of Animation, I could put all my family of five in both of those rooms, and it's a very different experience for me in that space. I can't put my family in one room in this space. Configuration at Animal Kingdom Lodge for your family is very difficult because even the one-bedroom villas sleep four. They really need to change that. They do. It's tough. You know, we stayed there when my... A lot, a lot, a lot. When my kids were not three yet.

[00:44:07] We stayed there multiple times before the twins were three. So we all fit in a villa or a standard room, either one that we wanted. And I think we even did one trip where I put one of my kids with my parents. And so... And we did two rooms. But, yeah, now it's a problem. But this is a must-do. This is a must-day. Good pick, Stacey. It has to be on the list, obviously. Yeah. I think that Disney in general, I wish that they would move towards having every room have a fifth sleeper. Even if it's a couch that folds down like they do at most of the deluxe resorts at this point.

[00:44:36] Or we really only have very limited in the moderate space where there is a smaller drop-down option. But I do hope they can continue to evolve in bringing in a space for a fifth person in a bedroom. Yeah. Beck, it's your turn to give us underrated must-day. Underrated must-day. Okay. I'm going to jump over to the Magic Kingdom space from where we were just talking about Animal Kingdom Lodge. And this one is a very easy walk to Magic Kingdom. So the location is a really, really good experience.

[00:45:06] You're going to have easy access to the monorail. However, having stayed in multiple versions of this, specifically even with the people on this call today, we had some very interesting experiences with Chef Mickey's music. So I would not recommend at the Contemporary Resort staying in the main tower, but instead choosing a garden view room. You're still going to get the Incredibles-themed rooms with really, really great location to Magic Kingdom.

[00:45:35] And the price point is really, really good for a family of five, as my family is, to be getting the deluxe after hours and that full deluxe experience without having to carry the heavy price tag that comes with a lot of deluxe stays. I think it's very underrated. I would agree that it's underrated. I would agree that you get a lot of perks. And I would agree that the tower can be difficult. I have helped a lot of families stay in the tower. And I don't think I've had very many come back with the same feedback we experienced.

[00:46:04] I don't know why it was such an issue for us. It really, but it really was. I don't think we were being dramatic. I mean, it was really quite difficult. But I haven't received that feedback from a lot of families I've booked there. So that's good, at least. Yeah, that is good. But I agree with you that it's not where I would go. I'm 50-50 on this being on the list. Yeah, and I'm okay putting this in the lobby. Something else I like about this particular, the Contemporary, because the Contemporary does take a lot of flack from us on this podcast in a lot of spaces, honestly. It's not our favorite space.

[00:46:34] But if you are a person who loves the larger-than-life Disney aspect of the theming that is Art of Animation or the All-Star Resorts, and you want to be in a deluxe resort and you don't want to fill in a space that feels like it's just subtle Disney nods, the Incredibles rooms are awesome. The lamps, the pillows, the details are so cool. Pulling out the drawers and seeing notes that are written to Incredibles to each other.

[00:47:02] It is a unique space that you don't get in any other deluxe resort. I agree with you. You know, my only thing that's holding me back, and I don't think it should, when you're this close to Magic Kingdom and you have the opportunity to see the park from your room. That's fair. That is a fair criticism of it. So that's difficult to give up when it's an opportunity, and then I wouldn't do it necessarily at the Contemporary, which is why the Garden Wing actually makes a lot more sense to me. But I guess it doesn't have to be either or.

[00:47:31] You know, there's still space in the list to do something else that could be that. I think in terms of just underrated, the Garden View—or the Garden Wing, excuse me—is smart. And it is smart for those reasons that you just said. And it is a good stay. It's very close to the boat dock. I'm 50-50. Stacey, where are you at? Yeah, I really—I think I like the Contemporary a little more than most people in our podcast team. I don't mind it too much.

[00:47:57] And even when we stayed together, I had not noticed the noise of Chef Mickey's until one of you had pointed it out. And I was like, oh, I guess we do hear it. You know, it just didn't—that's not too uncommon with my personality type, too. Like, I just sometimes don't notice things. And, you know, so it doesn't bother me. And I really like the being so central in that tower.

[00:48:22] I like so much about the tower and so much of the nostalgia and so much of that being such a dream of mine when I was a little kid. And that this hotel is the one the monorail goes through. And I wanted that. And so to me, there's such an appeal to being there. And I kind of like that you walk out and it is a real—like a hotel experience.

[00:48:45] It's like a—it's a nice—kind of the feeling of just going into a downtown hotel where it's hustle and bustle and you hear the restaurants. And you—you know, there's shops. And I don't know. Like, I like that vibe. I love being in the tower. And it's—yeah, it's just really fun and just being that close. Yeah. I mean, but even having your room is just right there. It's like—I don't know. Where—I don't know. I really like it. I think it's awesome. I understand that that is probably nuanced a little bit.

[00:49:15] But I'll tell you, the biggest nuisance for me, and I hate even bringing it up, is the electrical parade at night. At 9 p.m., that parade is coming by outside your window. And that's a little—if you're trying to get kids asleep at 9 o'clock, it may or may not. If your kids are hard enough sleepers, they may not notice it. But my kids would never hear that. That's the only kind of sound nuisance that I would have called out. Interesting. Yeah.

[00:49:43] And that one you're only going to see in certain situations. Like, you're not going to necessarily see if you're in theme park view from the tower. But if you're water view from the tower, you could. Yeah. So, yeah. Yeah. So, I mean, it's—you know, and it's a minor thing. So, it sounds like that's a lobby for now. Yeah. Is that a yes? We've got a lot—yeah, we've got a lot in the lobby. Okay, I'm going to try to give one that's not going to go to the lobby. Okay. Okay. I am going to say club level at Coronado Springs in the tower.

[00:50:10] The reason I say this is Coronado Springs gets no love. It is an overlooked opportunity. It just is. And honestly, fair. Yeah. Because it's not leaning into heavy Disney theming. It's not super close. It is bus only. It is really quite large. But when you move past all of that, it has incredible dining. It has an incredible pool, a playground, a sand area. It's a wonderful space. And the tower feels deluxe.

[00:50:39] And it is the only moderate club. You are going to get incredible value since, you know, y'all say I don't love value. I do. I do love the value. And I love the hunt for saving families money. I love to find that. When you stay Coronado club level, you are going to, like, sometimes, y'all, the snacks in club level are chicken tender baskets. You know? Yeah. It's not just small bites. You're going to be fed.

[00:51:07] There is alcohol, Mickey bars, hors d'oeuvres. And you're getting it at a moderate resort. And you're staying in the gorgeous tower. There are great bars and lounges. There's signature dining, regular dining, Sangria University. I would just say it's a no-brainer that this has to be on the list. It's not only underrated. I think people just flat out don't know about it to rate it. Yeah. I love Coronado Tower. Yes. On board. And then you add the club level.

[00:51:37] Okay. Let's go. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Yes. Yeah. I mean, club level, including all of that food and snacks, I mean, you can't beat it. It's a much more doable price than when you're looking at club level when you're going towards the deluxe resorts. They really have a nice price tag on those. So I'm in. Yeah. I agree with you. This does not need to go to the lobby. I completely agree. Underrated. Unknown. So awesome.

[00:52:05] That might be my, if I was choosing it, I could go stay anywhere. Club level or in the tower in general at Coronado is among the best of the best for me. I love it. It feels deluxe without the deluxe price tag. It does give me the issue of you can't sleep a family of five here. Again, Disney get on board with giving us a fifth sleeper in this space. But it just feels like Barcelona to me. I love it so much. Yeah. It's amazing. Love it. Beautiful. Really beautiful space. All right. Stace, I think that's to you. Ooh.

[00:52:37] So I, let me go to, ooh, I have two that I think, I think either one of these might go straight. I knew that, I knew some of my other choices may not, may go to the lobby, but this one, let's, here's my difficulty with, with these two is one is a room type that has been updated and I haven't been to personally. I'm just going to go here. We need to talk about it. Treehouse Villa. We got to talk about the treehouses.

[00:53:05] They are at Saratoga Springs. Springs? You know, you always get me questioning that. Like the first time I ever talked about it with you guys, I called it, what did I call it? Sarasota. I kept calling it Sarasota. Oh, Sarasota. Just for a second there. Totally different. A second there. Totally different. I just totally questioned myself. I was like, did I just mess this up? Because Allie's staring at me and it's like, did I just mess that up? Okay. All right. So Treehouse Villa, Saratoga Springs, which I love the location for this. If you're, if you're planning to go to Disney Springs, I think that it's really a fun option

[00:53:35] just to be that close anyway. If you want to spend some good time at Disney Springs, anyone who's ridden boat in the boating areas of Disney Springs, you've probably seen these very cool little treehouses and they're literally in like the woods of Saratoga Springs. They're not part of the resort. They look very different from the rest of the resort and they are so unique. We all stayed there before the renovation.

[00:54:02] They have recently been renovated and I really want us to go back. I want to go check it out. It looks so good. Not the most convenient spot as far as like bus riding is not great, but just a super unique spot with lots of space. These are the other spot with the bunk beds. We mentioned very few places with bunk beds. This one has bunk beds and two bedroom, well, three bedrooms with the bunks in one of them.

[00:54:30] Also a much more now comfortable pullout couch that has the more Murphy bed style versus the old springs and the old slide out couch. So the foldable mattress is the issue. Yeah. Yes. Yes. Yes. Right. I'm, I'm glad you brought this up. I'm curious if it goes on the list because it is a very similar experience to the cabins at Fort Wilderness. It is for bigger families though. Like you're talking, you're getting into double digits here with people.

[00:54:57] So it is a good community space to have like a getaway for a family reunion kind of idea. Yes. Yes. Big kitchen, living room, dining table, you know, to have that. You don't have a, you don't have a real dining room table in the cabins. You know, you're, you're, you've got a smaller table situation. You've got an actual dining room table, dining room area. You do have a table, but it's not like a massive table. It's a table for six in the cabins. Okay. Okay. But it's definitely not like a big table.

[00:55:26] My visual, in my brain, visually it seems bigger and I guess there's more space. I'm sure it is bigger. I think we had, what we had seven, seven people sitting around that table easily in the tree house. This is a really cool spot. It's very expensive. It's very expensive. And I would not recommend staying in a tree house without a car. Yeah. I think it's hard without a car. And that's interesting because there's no other resort at Disney where I would say that.

[00:55:53] There's not a single other space where I would say you have to have a car. And for a lot of reasons, I think it's important here. I mean, we walked a very easy path up to a bus stop and utilized the Saratoga Springs bus when we were there and it was really no problem. But with little kids and doing it daily, I think you'd need to be on a very specific trip to stay at the tree house. We didn't have to do that. Just to point out, there was a bus stop near us. Well, no, but there was a bus stop near us.

[00:56:20] The tree houses do have a bus stop, but they were not super on schedule. Yeah. It's an internal bus. It's not park buses. So it's like a transfer. It transfers you to the resort bus stop. And I remember we waited a really long time and it never came. Yeah, it was not great. And so that's why we walked up. So I love these. I think they are for a very specific trip. I did write them as a maybe on my list. And I think that they are for a specific trip.

[00:56:49] That's the only thing I just keep thinking in my head. It's not for that Disney vacation where you're going to the parks every day. One of you just said family reunion. Playing games in there. Running around in the little cul-de-sacs. You know, really cool. They're elevated. I love them a lot. But it's not for every trip and it's not for everybody. Yeah. I think in my head I classify them very similar to the cabins in this like type of vacation I would want to be going for.

[00:57:17] And I think I would choose the cabins at Fort Wilderness over the treehouse just in general. I would choose the treehouse for a large family gathering over at Fort Wilderness, I think, if that was the primary focus. And we'd had a car. Yeah. But you have to be ready to spend. You have to be ready to spend. Awesome. Okay. Are we moving on to the next one or any other? Oh, are we putting it on the list or is it in the lobby? I think it needs to be in the lobby. I don't think this one's going to make the list, but I'm glad you brought it up. And it was on mine to discuss as well. But I have a little asterisk by it saying I don't think it's going to make it. So it's lobby technically or it's just a flat out no.

[00:57:47] Sure. What would make you feel better, Stace? We can say no. Oh, I thought it was going to be a yes, but we can say no. I think for these reasons that we said, I think it's a no. But I do love that it's part of the conversation and I would have brought it up probably next if you hadn't. So. All right, Beck, what are you going with? Okay. I have two views on my list that is from your room that could go either way. And I don't think that either of them need to be there.

[00:58:13] I don't think that either of them are superior to the other, but I'm going to go to the one that speaks to my own heart. And we've experienced this together as a podcast team. It is the flagship resort at Walt Disney World. It is one that so many people dream of staying, especially if you are like me, a millennial who grew up watching Full House, watching them play the piano in the lobby.

[00:58:38] And that is the Grand Floridian, specifically a theme park view room at the Grand Floridian. Obviously going to have a heavy price tag, but I do think it is one of those things that might be worth dreaming of doing for a family if it's in your budget and it's something that you're dreaming of. It is perfection. It's on my list. It is probably among the biggest price tag you can get at Disney World. I understand that. However, I think this has to be on the list.

[00:59:06] This is peak Disney. This is top of the mountain Disney, right? I have really, really fallen in love with the Grand Floridian. Not that I didn't always appreciate it, but I have really grown an affinity for this resort. And I just... The exhale when you're there, those... Something about that powder blue in the rooms that they have remodeled is so serene and elegant and beautiful.

[00:59:35] And the undertones and the theming. And when we were there, this is by request only. We got lucky. But we were placed... We had a standard room booked. And we were placed in one of the turrets. And we had a whole basically separate room that I slept in. I slept on a sofa bed type thing. Not a sofa. It didn't fall out. Yeah. Yeah. It was like a child-sized bed basically from a couch. But I had a separate TV. I was in the round. I had a little hidden space for my bag. It was a kid's bed.

[01:00:04] You know, I was the only one that was going to sleep on it. But it was amazing. And we got that just by being in a standard room. So that's a good request to make. If you can see the theme park from the Grand Floridian, I think it has to be on the list because it's just too iconically Disney. It really is. It is so beautiful. And it's not just that it's a theme park view. It's theme park with water in between you. So like you've got this...

[01:00:26] When it's the beautiful sparkling lights or the fireworks, it is a reflective, sparkling magic just kind of added to it. I mean, it is absolutely magical. This is... And here's what I have found to be true. I'm curious if you have as well. There seems to be more theme park view rooms available here maybe than some of the others. I don't know if that's necessarily true or if it's the price tag, but it's like they are available.

[01:00:54] And so if you can hit a promo and get this room, it feels like that opportunity arrives a little more often than maybe some of the upgrades in other resorts. I feel like this is an upgraded room that you can get on a promo. So like if you see it, grab it. Yes, it may be more than you usually would be willing to spend, but it's absolutely an incredible stay. I'm glad you picked this one, Becky.

[01:01:22] And I assume you were going, you know, toggling between this and Polynesian. And the problem I have with theme park view at Contemporary is it's the parking lot between. Truly. And you really have a lot of parking lot. It is a lot of parking lot. And yes, you're very super close, but it's just so much better at Poly or Grand. And I'll just say because we're going to go with Grand Floridian and ultimately that's what I wrote on my list as well. Even though theme park view at Poly is where we stay most. Yeah. It is the most central view in all of you.

[01:01:51] You get the full central skyline of Magic Kingdom when you stay at the Polynesian, which is really, really special. So I just want to say that. But the Grand Floridian is just so peak Disney and it's so iconically Disney. And it has to be on the list. It's so spectacular. And I understand it's a very difficult thing to do because of that price tag. Honestly, I have not done it with my family. You know, I get it. But if you can, if you can budget, if you can make payments, it's the dream. It is.

[01:02:18] And also from the sleepy standpoint, and I am going to be the I'm traveling with a family of five and we aren't going to get a second room. We happily sleep five grown people in these Disney deluxe fold down couch situation. It is not the same as, say, the bed in Caribbean Beach fifth sleepers. It is the whole back of the couch folds down. And this kind of a bed sleeping situation does hit in a lot of deluxe resorts as the fifth sleeper option.

[01:02:46] And so it is a comfortable space for a fifth person to be in these in these rooms. And I love these details. Yeah, the details are crazy. The little penguins. I mean. The penguins and the Mary Poppins nod. It's like, oh, it's amazing. It is lovely. When you were at my house, did you see my Grand Floridian chair? You saw it, right? I did. Yes. Because they remodeled these rooms and you could buy the chairs, like the desk chairs, I think, from the old rooms. And they're so elegant and beautiful. We bought one. We love it. It's like my favorite thing in the house.

[01:03:15] OK, that's four out of seven on the list. So we're going to take a quick break. We do have three in the waiting room, but we already know that only one out of two of them is going to make it. So potentially we have two spots, maybe earmarked. And from my list, we've talked about every single thing except for two. It's to me next when we come back from this break. And I'm getting a little anxious with how this is going to shake out and how we're going to do this. But before we do, some of these rooms that we're talking about, they do come with that big price tag.

How am I going to get the three that are still on my list? On the list. Yeah. How is this going to happen? I have four that I feel like I can argue for as well.

[01:04:40] Well, you're going to have to only pick a couple. There's too many good places to stay at Disney World. You're going to have to pick your, like, single favorite here to pitch. I'm sure some of these are going to be what you also have. Do I want to lean into theming or view is my question. Well, so far, Savannah view. Cabin is kind of a theme. Yeah. Theme park view. I'm going to do one with a question mark. I'm curious to hear y'all's thoughts. I put this on my list with a little bit of a question mark. Is a royal guest room where Becky is going this weekend, is it still a must stay?

[01:05:10] Is it still an underrated stay with the renovation? Or did they change it so much that it's no longer a part of this list? In its old iteration, this room is without a doubt on the list. Is that still the case today? That was the one that I have as, like, my moderate that I would recommend as a unique stay. The reason I say yes is because there are very few places in all of Walt Disney World that a room itself has its own kind of category.

[01:05:40] I guess we could obviously say at Art of Animation, as Ali was talking about previous, you can choose a theme for the different room you want to be in. But there's not a lot of spaces that you're going to get a difference of the theme you're staying in by choice that you're actively booking, except in this space. And if you have a fan of princesses in general, know that this is focused on Tiana. This is a Tiana-focused room at this point.

[01:06:07] However, I do still think that it is something special that you're not getting in a lot of other spaces. And so from that perspective, I definitely want this to be a yes. But again, back to the lens of a mom with three kids, this is not a room that sleeps five people. So how did we do a renovation without putting in a fifth sleeper? That was my question. Why was this remodeled and not adjusted? It makes no sense. And I love Tiana.

[01:06:36] And she makes so much sense to be a focus for a resort room, especially at this particular resort. New Orleans focus. Duh. So I actually support it. Katie is still flipping her lid about it. And I get it because the old royal room, we need that. It was super princessy. Yeah, it was super princessy. But we need a space. And maybe, you know, what is the answer? Should they have moved those in a more elegant form to Grand Floridian? They couldn't have moved them how they were to Grand Floridian.

[01:07:05] You know, they would have needed a reimagining. But I do think we need a room that leans into multiple princesses. That is royal and regal for the kids that want that. And I am really surprised. Again, I get that Port Orleans being Tiana makes a lot of sense. Yeah. I still think it's kind of a must stay because a Tiana room is banging. Like, that's awesome.

[01:07:31] But I'm really, I'm so disappointed that we don't have a princess room anymore, anywhere. And I'd be okay if it was elsewhere. I don't know where it should be. Probably reimagined at Grand Floridian, I guess. But I don't know. Does the new royal Tiana room make the list? I think it does have other elements that's not just a princess room. The glowing headboard, I think, is still something that's uniquely memorable. That you would leave that room having a memory of that room. It's not just another room on Disney.

[01:08:01] So when we're comparing it to other, the old princess room, had they refreshed it and kept it still nodding to all of the princesses, we would be like, yes, 100%. But in this case, it's limited down to one princess. But there's still magic touches. And I'm excited to experience it today because I have felt that myself. Like, oh, where's the other princesses? But I'm hopeful because it does look like they upgraded a lot of, it's not just like we painted the walls. They really did do a really good upgrade. Yeah.

[01:08:30] So I'm a yes on this, but I could see either way. Can we put it in the lobby so that we can do a little bit of side-by-side comparison of everything that's in the lobby and let me think about that a little bit more? Yeah. I'm on board with this one, too, just for the record for now. Are we 100% positive that even in the renovation, the headboard still lights up? Yeah. Yes. Okay. Because that is— I don't know yet how it lights up, but it absolutely does glow in some way. I'll just say that—and yes, Stacey, to your question, I think we can put it in the lobby. That's fine.

[01:09:00] I stayed at the Disneyland Hotel, which was a bucket list type thing, last summer. And the headboard there famously plays a firework show with music. Yeah. And it made a huge difference in my trip. I know it shouldn't, and maybe I'm unique in that way. I don't know. Maybe I'm dramatic. No, it was pretty cool. I think it's a memorable thing. Yeah. I think it's a memorable thing. And it's the only place that does it. It's not the place that does it. My kids—I'm going to cry again. Like, they just would lay there at night, and they'd be like, will you play it?

[01:09:28] And then they learned how to play it, and they just, like, fell asleep to fireworks every night, which you know I love. And they loved it so much. Yeah. Yeah. They loved it so much. Yeah. So good. So good. And we ever go an episode without crying? I don't know. I know. I'm crying over a headboard. This is stupid. Okay. It's not stupid. It's really good. All right. That was basically the last one on my list. I have one more, but I don't know if it's going to make it. I feel like it's weak in the conversation. It's very nuanced to just me.

[01:09:58] But we'll see if it even gets around to me again. I might just mention it. We may not need to discuss it at length. But, Stace, I think it's you. I guess I have several little things that I feel like I could argue for. But the one that we might still be going with is Beach Club. And there are so many different room options between beach and yacht. And if you listen to the Beach and Yacht Club episode, we go through a lot of that in detail.

[01:10:22] But I think having a Beach Club room, I even think you can get away with a standard room there. But if we're going to talk requests, if we talk about a requested room that is close to Epcot, the convenience of that for so much of your park visits is so good.

[01:10:43] That ability to be back in your room so fast after either coming off of the Skyliner from Hollywood Studios or just walking out of the backside of the park at Epcot and being in your bed so fast. Oh, my goodness. I just think that experience. And then you add on how wonderful a resort it is with everything else. I know we're trying to be room focused with this sleepy episode. We just know how wonderful the resort is as a whole.

[01:11:11] But then when you have a room that is so conveniently located, it's like we talked about with a contemporary being so close to Magic Kingdom and how nice that is. The convenience of walking to your room within minutes after leaving Epcot or coming off the Skyliner is just the biggest relief once you can take those shoes off and you lay down on your bed and the kids get in the bed. It's amazing.

[01:11:34] So it's interesting that you took the take of location for Beach Club because my other room that I had on my list that I wasn't very confident would make it. And this, again, is a little bit more personal to me was a was actually a water view room. And the reason I was going with that is because you can request a spot for that water view room and you can get a full landscape view of the boardwalk. And I think that's almost as beautiful and magical as a theme park view. It's really, really special. It is part of where I grew up staying.

[01:12:03] I talk a lot about those trips I took with my family. And this is ultimately where we graduated to and stuck with was staying sort of that water view at Yacht Orr Beach. And we would request and get that beautiful central view of the boardwalk. And at night, it would just light up and be so you knew you were somewhere special. It's true. So that's, you know, when I'm thinking about underrated or must stay, whichever lens you look at this through, I want a room that's going to make me feel like I know I'm somewhere special. And that view really, really does.

[01:12:33] And so if I had to pick two extra minutes to walk to it versus the location of the villa rooms over there, I would pick that. You know, I would pick the one that's going to have that dynamic view and potentially where you're situated, you might even see Epcot fireworks. That's true. And the other disadvantage that I see from just in general, the beach club is and why I hadn't put this specifically on my list is for me, the beach club is more about the resort and not necessarily about the rooms being anything significantly cool.

[01:13:03] They're very beautiful and they're good sizes and all of those things. But the location, you can't guarantee. You can't guarantee yourself close to Epcot. That is definitely something you would request. Request. Yeah. The water view, I'm completely on board. I don't know the answer to this, but I've booked a water view room somewhere and then got put in a pool view room and they said that that counted and I didn't get the view that I wanted. And so I was like, oh.

[01:13:26] This is why it was difficult for me on my list because a pool and there are many pools and they're kind of in coves of the resort. That view would count as water view, which I think is really kind of crappy. I wish they would sell a boardwalk view, like sell a boardwalk view room. I agree. I completely agree because it is premium and you're paying the same for that as somebody that gets a pool and it's a bit of a gamble. So you need to have your travel agent call and request that specific view and then it's not guaranteed.

[01:13:54] So that's why I was a little bit stressed about this one. But if you get it and you're staying there, oh, so wonderful. I mean, almost my biggest preference. I do love it. I really do love it. Yeah. I just I worry because you could get pool view when you're booking water. So and this was the argument. And my argument for that was still just the convenience. You know, I love you for sure. But that is gravy to me versus convenience. I love a convenient spot. Right.

[01:14:23] Right. OK. So it's lobby, obviously. Yeah. We got somebody in the lobby. This is hard, but we have to pick three. Do you want to hear my last one that I have for consideration? Yeah, I'm out. I'm out. So, yeah. So the last one that I have is tied for first place on resorts that I would choose to stay at. And this is Wilderness Lodge. I absolutely love this resort.

[01:14:46] There must I must be in my Magic Kingdom resort area era kind of thing because I want to just be in this space. And this is specifically a firework view room. This allows you to look over and you can bring the pipe, the music into your room to hear Happily Ever After from your room at Wilderness Lodge. And I think that that is so valuable. Do I think that I would book it over something like a Theme Park View Grand Floridian?

[01:15:16] If it was this or that, I would choose the Theme Park View Grand Floridian. But I absolutely loved the time I spent staying in a firework view room at Wilderness Lodge. It is so memorable. I have vivid memories of that room and that view in particular. I put this similar to the conversation we just had at Beach Club where it's like, yeah, these resorts are obviously amazing. Yeah. A fireworks view at any monorail resort is going to be better than this. So that's where I have a hard time making it be a top seven.

[01:15:46] But then I'm going to this convenience too. I particularly wrote down Wilderness Lodge during a party time. I love the idea of going to any of the parties. Well, Magic Kingdom. Being able to go and with parties being at Magic Kingdom and that focus time. Of course, there are parties at Hollywood Studios. I should throw that in. I just really love being able to use that boat ride from the back of the resort to pull up to Magic Kingdom by water is awesome.

[01:16:14] The convenience of that is really fast and a quick way to be back in your room without being right there on the monorail or walking distance. And yet it is just as fast. And even having like resort view there is still really pretty. I think so much about the Wilderness Lodge is so pretty in that dark wood, even in the hallways. Like it's just, it's a beautiful setting. I love it. It was on my list too.

[01:16:42] I can make an argument though for why every resort is the most beautiful or the most amazing. You know, I really can. And I really feel like I can think of five resorts that have a better firework view. So I wouldn't necessarily splurge to do that from this resort, which makes it hard for me to put it on the list. If I'm going to splurge, I mean, even we had a firework view from the boardwalk villas and that was spectacular. Talk about a view. I mean, that was... I'm just really curious what you're going to fill in these up there.

[01:17:10] What are you going to put in as your, these extra three spots though? I know what I, I know the three I would put on the list. From our lobby, I know the three I would pick. So, okay, if we're going to leave Wilderness off for those reasons, it's great though. I mean, it's, it's a great site. We're leaving it off or not put it in the, it's not in the argument. I think it's off. And I think Beach Club is probably going to be off for the same reason. Interesting. But I love those resorts. I'm just, I'm talking about room stays and room, you know, I don't know. Here's what I would do. So on our list...

[01:17:37] The separation, you, the way you can separate your room from the resort as a whole is very interesting to me. Like, I just don't feel like it, I feel like you have to include your resort. Well, I can because I would say, here's how, Stace. I would say this to somebody. I would say Beach Club is a better resort for certain reasons than Port Orleans, Riverside, right? That's, I would say that.

[01:18:05] But if you can stay in a royal guest room, now you have leveled up your resort experience and this room may make it worth it to stay there instead. And that's kind of where my brain is on all of this. And so while I love... So right now on our list, underrated or must stays, we have a Savannah view at Animal Kingdom, a cabin at Fort Wilderness during or on a holiday, club level at Coronado Springs, and the theme park view at the Grand Floridian.

[01:18:32] Those are obvious, amazing choices. In the waiting room or in the lobby, excuse me. And I'll even say, you know, firework view at Wilderness Lodge, even though I think that there are five better firework views. Water view at Beach Club, royal guest room at Port Orleans, Riverside, Garden Wing at Contemporary, and then either a Finding Nemo suite at Art of Animation or the Family suite at All Star Music. Do you want to know the three I would keep? And then maybe we can all say the three we would keep and that'll help us eliminate some.

[01:19:02] Yeah, that's fine. Sure. The three I would keep off of that list, Finding Nemo Suite at Art of Animation. I think it's a staple choice to stay out for a family. The royal guest room. I cried thinking about my headboard experience, so I think I have to go with that. And I think it levels up your stay and your experience at a resort that really kind of falls low in best resort overall. You know, it's great. It's awesome. You're going to have a great experience. Price tag is always good. But I think staying in that room really levels it up.

[01:19:29] And then I would say I'm torn between the Waterview Room at Beach Club and the Garden Wing at Contemporary. And if we're going underrated, I can see a really good argument for that Garden Wing at Contemporary. So I probably would go with that. That would be my three. I honestly would probably pick your same three. Even though I myself would choose the Family Suite at the All-Star Music. And I happily stay at the All-Star on the regular. I would say more than any other resort, I stay at the All-Star Resorts.

[01:19:58] So they are very, very worth considering. If you are considering off-site or staying at an All-Star Resort, you are going to have a memorable experience at an All-Star Resort. You know what I think it is for me? I think for me, I'm like, consider All-Star. Book All-Star. Go to All-Star. It's great. I'm not trying to poo-poo that. But I think the main reason that you go there is to get your full bubble Disney experience and do it while saving money. Do it for an inexpensive route.

[01:20:28] Not for the experience being the forward thought. If your first thought is experience, I think it's much better at Art of Animation. I just do. But I don't think that it's bad at All-Star. I just don't think it's a top seven. I don't think that it is a bad experience either. And like I said, for my family, I would choose All-Star Family Suites over for lots of reasons, not just because of the theming.

[01:20:57] I just think if you're staying at All-Star, the prevailing reason you're booking there is typically for the value. And I just don't think that's the best way to produce this list because I don't think value is necessarily the prevailing thought here. We're talking experiences and dreams and full immersion. Like in my mind, that's kind of where I am coming from. Yeah. And I hear where you're coming from and I understand where you're coming from for sure. My challenge on the Nemo suite is I probably would pick a car suite.

[01:21:26] But I'm happy. I would happily stay in a Nemo suite. I actually, Nemo might be my favorite Pixar suite. What if we just call it? I would lean Nemo. As much as I love cars, and I think there's so much incredibly cute about cars. And I think the pool area is just really underrated and it's such a prize to get in that pool area.

[01:21:49] I do think if we're going in the way that Allie's leading us here with the big grand experience of all the things that you can look at and enjoy. And then I do have that convenience factor that I do love so much. Yes. I love Nemo for that. Nemo is fantastic for that. And it is.

[01:22:13] I mean, even looking at your room, if you're able to see the big blue pool from there, that is such a great view. It's one of those pool views that's not just a normal pool view. It is really thematic and amazing. So I'm okay with switching gears here and, you know, I love Finding Nemo. I have no problem with having on the list. The food court at Art of Animation is really good.

[01:22:40] It's really, I think, I think it's better than most, honestly. There's like stations and... That feels the same at all of the value though. Maybe, I guess. Maybe. Potentially so. I just have more experience maybe right here. But I just, I like it. It feels so Disney. It feels so immersive. I think if you're staying here, it's worth even just walking around to see the other themes. For sure. The Skyliner is so easy and fun.

[01:23:07] And those lines get long during peak parts of the day to get to and from the parks. But... They do. They go fast. They go quickly. You know, you're waiting for a bus. I do. Those lines are long too. So I would really be pleased to put the Nemo suite on the list. Yep. I'm down with that. I'm good with that. I also think the more that I sit with it, I may have a different opinion by tonight.

[01:23:28] But I think the Royal Guest Room, even with the upgrades, if we weren't comparing it, I still think it will stand on its own as being a unique, memorable experience that is not just another resort stay. So that's where I'm leaning. And then my next choice, simply because I'm looking at what can I actually book and know before I get there what I'm going to get.

[01:23:50] And for that purpose and the chance that my Waterview at Beach Club could be a pool view room in a back corner, like that's not guaranteeing me my experience that I've built up in my head. So an opportunity for maybe a disappointment. Even though you will still have a great time, I would choose the Garden View Wing at Contemporary because you know the room you're going to get. You know how close to Magic Kingdom you're going to be.

[01:24:13] And you know actively that Incredibles is going to be a part of the memory making of that adventure. I'm with you on that. And I like that this is kind of an underrated space. Just there are so many perks to booking in the Garden Wing. I really, really feel. And Stacey, I really appreciate your affinity for the Tower. And I love being in the Tower. I really, really do. I just, if I'm going to pay that dollar, I think I'm going to pay it at Poly or Grand. I agree. Me.

[01:24:43] Yeah, I don't have a problem with that. I do like that the Contemporary has a representation in the Garden View room. I think that's very good and very fair. And you're going to be so happy with the Contemporary as part of your vacation experience. I think Garden View is an awesome option. Okay, I like it. And that was not, you know, that's one that a lot of these were cross-divers on my list. I did not have this one. And I like that it's making the list. So is that it? Stacey, did you agree on the Royal? I have six.

[01:25:13] Oh, the Royal. That's the one I didn't have written down. Yeah, I have not ever stayed there. So I don't have a lot of experience. I have stayed at the Disneyland experience, the Disneyland Hotel experience with the light, the lit headboards there. And it is very sweet and cool. So I can be on board with this. Yeah. I love that you said, Becky, if we weren't comparing something that it used to be, then I don't even think this would be a conversation. I think it would just be a shoo-in. And so I think these are memorable stays.

[01:25:43] I think we really kind of nailed it. We gave representation across all the levels. I know that our value representation is on the expensive side, very much so. But I think when it comes to a memorable stay and an underrated stay, we have really looked at this from every angle you possibly can. And I'm excited about it. And you know what? For any M&Ms out there listening that are collecting magic words, our magic word today will be stay because these are all really memorable stays. Okay. Let's review.

[01:26:11] And then we're going to play a quick game. This was fun. Our seven—this was difficult. We talked about a lot of good options. But our seven underrated and memorable stays at Disney World that you should be considering are a Savannah View room at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Come on. There's just nothing quite like it. But from the moment they announced those rooms were going to be a thing, they became a bucket list for me and as well as my wife before we even, you know, knew that we would be experiencing them together. Cabin at Fort Wilderness on or during a holiday.

[01:26:40] This is an opportunity for you to get a double vacation. This is a camping trip and all kinds of unique family bonding and experiences outside of just the parks that are going to be magical in themselves. Club level at Coronado Springs. What an underrated resort. You're going to feel like you're staying deluxe at a much lower price tag. You're going to be well-fed at that club. I'm telling you what. It's going to be an inclusion that goes a long way on your wallet. So I love it. Theme Park View at the Grand Floridian. Now this one is peak Disney.

[01:27:10] This is going to be as expensive as you can get at Disney. But gosh, if you could strategize it, there's nothing more magical than that. The Finding Nemo Family Suite at Art of Animation for its theming. Its convenience. Its immersion. It is absolutely wonderful. It's quite large. It's room for everyone. I'm glad that it made the list. It really is one of the top experiences at Disney World. It truly, truly is. The Garden View, or excuse me, the Garden Wing Room. I keep saying Garden View because it's one of the options you can book.

[01:27:38] In the Garden Wing at Disney's Contemporary. It's the smaller building behind the main building. And we picked it because it still has the amazing, incredible theming inside. You're guaranteed to get that theming. You're away from the loud hustle and bustle of the main building. And you're getting deluxe often for a value price tag, especially on a promo. And often promos are available in the Garden Wing. So I love that for it. And finally, number seven, the Royal Guest Room at Port Orleans Riverside. I think it's great that this made the list.

[01:28:07] And Becky really, really drove it home by saying we're not comparing the old version. We're just specifically talking about this one. And had the old version never existed, this one would have been a shoe-in. And with the headboard and the Tiana theming and really leveling up a resort that otherwise could use a boost in the theme department, I think it really is deserving. Did we crush it? Book me every one of those vacations. And I am going to make so many memories. Like, yes, yes, yes, yes.

[01:28:35] And Allie, you were saying about this feeling like, yes, we're at the high end of value. But I feel like if we chose any of these options, it's a worthy stretch of your dollar to make yourself put a little extra emphasis on let's splurge a little and experience something that's not just a hotel room. And it adds something more than the resorts. We've talked a lot about the resorts on this podcast. But getting into these granular details to help us understand, like, why we're choosing

[01:29:03] very specific things, I think is really helpful. And I really wanted to do it from this point of view today because, you know, the Polynesian and the Beach Club are my favorite two resorts on property and Boardwalk and the Grand. My God, I can't pick. But only one of those resorts made today's list because I really wanted to dig even deeper and, as you said, get a little bit more granular in an experience from within a room.

[01:29:29] And I thought that was really important for people planning to know that all of these resorts have a lot to offer and a lot of fun and a lot of good. And you can get an experience that's super unique at any of these and it be worthy of a vacation that you're going to remember forever. All right. Becky wants us to play a quick game. Yes.
